Kelowna to host 2019 Skate Canada International

How are there hardly any tickets left? The site says they aren’t on sale until 10am?

How did anyone even get a pre sake code?

And how are people already buying tickets without one?

I got the pre-sale link for having bought tickets to last year's skate Canada. Guess they wanted to reward loyal customers.

E-mails were sent to those on already their mailing list with an opportunity to buy a limited number of tickets put on pre-sale before today's sale to the public. In an unusual move, there was actually no code provided/needed.

Thanks.
I could be wrong but I’m guessing there are more tickets to be released to the general public at 10 am

Looks like I was wrong. Got my ticket but there wasn't anything left in the section behind the judges. So I got the middle ends and corners. I'm I section 106, Row K

Can't wait for the line up. I am hoping for G and P, P and C, Kihira, Uno or Hanyu, Gogoliev, Lubov and Charlie, B and K pairs from Russia.J and Cpiars from France would be great.

Anyway looking forward to it.

Gogolev is too young. He will be on the JGP.

The seats behind the judges are often "blacked out" - partly due to TV cameras (or other obstructed view) and partly due to seats reserved for the VIPs.

Really all four complete sections?!! Not super supportive of the fans.
They usually save those seats behind the judges for the coaches, skating VIPs, etc. Much of the lower deck view is blocked by the judging panel and technical panel. And all tour groups (Canada, US, Japan) get tickets before they go on sale to anyone else, hence in a small arena the lower seats are gone early. Some may come back when tour groups don't fill all their seats.

Sometimes there are also some additional seats released for sale closer to competition time when they determine which seats don't actually have blocked views (due to cameras, for example), haven't been picked up by sponsors, taken by the groups, etc.

Thanks. I bought tickets to Nationals but I guess that didn’t factor in.

I don't recall exactly how Skate Canada sets up email notifications, but I think the process was very simple and part of buying a ticket. Maybe one has to click something at Skate Canada's website?

Buying tickets to Nationals would definitely qualify you to be put on Skate Canada's mail list I would think - providing you gave an email address in the process.

Skate Canada wants to sell tickets, so having a list of people to contact for pre-sales and later sales is in the organization's interests. They are getting money now for an event that is about five months away, and will put it to good use I am sure.

So I don't know why you were not put on the Skate Canada email list. Maybe someone else knows? Or going to the Skate Canada website might direct you to register for email notification.
