I doubt Fedor is that friendly with Nikita, but I don't think being friends with someone means anything...Max and Stephane are friends, and they are nothing alike. They are all adults with their own personalities. Secondly, being honest is "keeping it classy." She didn't call him any names...she said what happened, according to her. Fedor, I'm sure, has his own version of events, but he can either respond or just leave it be. It's not her responsibility to sugarcoat their breakup. (Most) Russian skaters don't play those silly PR games.

Preach it! I haven't seen many pics of Fedor and Nikita either - it seems like they are very separate people. And Fedor and Max are VERY different people - they have said so themselves.

And let's not forget that Ksenia has been through hell this year, it is only natural for her to sound a little ticked off. Not to mention, it is never easy to break up with a partner of nine years. It's like getting a divorce. So obviously there will be some bitterness.

Can Smirnov make a comeback to skate with Ksusha?

What they went through with the Olympics had to be incredibly hard - not only to miss out on participating but to never (as far as I have been able to discern from the posts on this) be given any explanation at all? Some people are brought together by adversity but some aren't, and this is exactly the kind of thing that could drive a wedge between all but the most saintly of partners.

I completely agree. Ksenia and Fedor always seemed to care about each other to a point, even though they weren't romantically involved. They understood they needed each other to get to the top. But when something completely unexpected happens, it's only natural for it to put a serious stress on a relationship. For an Olympian, missing the Olympics is like losing a baby. Ksenia and Fedor have always tried to work through things, but there comes a point when a person can only handle so much, and maybe he just walked out.

Can we talk about Tuktamysheva's new twitter? (at least I'm pretty sure it's actually her? Adam Rippon and Jackie Wong are acting like it's really her) Her English is great and she's genuinely hilarious. I wish she'd gotten one sooner.

I also love how realistic she is about her skating and the competition in Russia. I hope her season goes well and she can make that world team again!

The FP is a good fit for them. The SP can't really say yet as Enbert looked really tired.

I thought this agreement was to give T/M chance to change their mind after one year, if it wasn’t working well for all parties, without having to worry about offending him or destroy their off ice relationship with him. I think it is quite generous arrangement, made with thinking about T/M’s needs. Sometimes it is so hard to leave your coach even though things may not be working.

True, but one season does not a great coach make. It takes several years to develop your craft. Trankov is not even a coach but a specialist. The world of pairs skating is moving back towards what Moskvina produced for her best pairs and you choose to instead work with an amateur in your prime years? It reeks of desperation to me. EDIT: Experiment on a new team but not a mature team looking to make an immediate impact in probably their last quad as competitive skaters. Trankov could have declined, not true?

I agree that he won’t become a great coach within one season, but it was T/M who wanted him. He agreed but put in place a clause that gives T/M the option to change their mind after a year without any hurt feelings on either side. I really can’t see anything wrong with it. He may not be a great coach within one year, but after one year T/M will know whether it works for them; they are working with him every day (or most days) so one year should be enough time to know.

Everyone is saying how great Moskvina is, and she did have a great results in the past, but it also doesn’t work for everyone. For example, I didn’t see much improvement in Efimova/Korovin who have been skating with Moskvina for a year. Mosknina also didn’t help much to Shevchenko/Bich, who skated with her for three years and eventually disappeared. And Bich used to look very promising at junior level.

Because Aljona is an innovator and Duhamel is a very hard worker. Trankov cannot claim to possess either of these qualities. If Tatiana was working with them I'd probably have more confidence in this project. But I wouldn't worry much the Russian machinery will ensure that they get respectable marks provided they stay vertical. They also do have great power and speed which the judges love.

As for Moskvina and any other great coach you also need great material. I am just surprised by how modestly they think of their talent. That's all.

Meagan? She's not coaching teams by herself - she's helping teams that Bruno coaches. She's no one's main coach at the moment.
