Forthcoming upgrade...

I'm not having problems with any of my devices. I use a PC, a Mac, an iPad and an iPhone 6. I'm usually on chrome for my browser except my iPhone where I use Safari.
The font size discussion is interesting because my eyes suck for reading and I was anticipating problems when using my iPhone, but I haven't noticed a difference

First, thanks for all the hard work with the upgrade - I'm already used to many of the changes and enjoying some of the new features.

Clicking the title will take you to your first unread post or the first post of the thread (if you've read everything). If you click the page numbers, you'll be taken to that page. Am I missing the issue here?

It sounds like this is a different issue than what the original poster raised, but one thing I miss is being able to go straight to the last page of a thread I have already read. It seems like the only option is to click on the thread and go to the first page, scroll all the way to the bottom, and then click on the last page. Not sure if it is possible to have the "jump to" page numbers also available on the thread listing (I think the last few pages used to be there on the old version) or have the option to navigate at the top of the thread as well as at the bottom - this would have been helpful when I was searching through a long thread and guessing what page I was looking for, and every time I guessed wrong, it would have been easier not to scroll down to the bottom to try my next guess.

Not a problem obviously if this can't be adjusted - we didn't even have the option to jump to specific pages before so there is something gained already.

I don't know if it's because I am one of the oldest people on this board, but I am having trouble with the letters, the font size/type in the responses seems, is this understandable, if not smaller but moreover skinnier, and therefore harder to see than old typefaces. Really struggling here and is it perhaps even worse on my phone? So sorry to be a complainer, but I wonder if I am not alone and if anyone else is having same problems?

Edited to add: Also, the quoted portions are obviously even smaller than regular statements if I am not wrong?

As I already stated earlier in the thread, you can get to the last post by clicking on the date and time to the right of the thread title. F you are on a smart phone, the date and time of the last post is on the bottom line of the thread title.

I tried this and it takes me to the first post, not the last.

Edited - OK, I think you mean when you are looking at the whole page of threads in the forums, and not when you have a thread open. :duh:

@Server Guy -- So, curious minds want to know. Who were you rooting for to win the gold in ice dance at the Olympics? :):):GnP1::glamor: . <== and no idea why I've go tall these smilies here when I just chose one. They're not even contiguous.

You're not alone. The type/font inside a thread is very difficult for me to read. It needs to have more oomph or something. I'm squinting right now trying to read this page.

My biggest thing is that there used to be a pop up that you could click on at the bottom or top of the page that let you jump to the other subforums without having to go to the main page. I miss that. Otherwise I am pretty happy with the new board.

After letting the new board sink in, I'd like to echo the request to make the font within posts larger and Verdana. It looks like the default within posts is now Tahoma, which is too narrowly spaced. I now need to view the screen in an enlarged mode, which I never needed to do before, but even with that, it's a bit harder to read the content. Thanks for considering.

(This post made in Verdana so you can compare. Unfortunately, I can only seem to change the font in my own posts, not those of others.)

Serverguy, thanks for all the great work. I have just one request. Can we just Like a post without having to do the second step of choosing a thumbs up (or any other) sign? That's two steps every time i like a post. I don't feel the need to give a sign each time. IMO it should be optional.

Maybe it's because I'm using the browser version, but when I click like it works just like before. If I want something else than hovering the cursor over the 'like' and then click on the icon. Maybe it's different browsers, for example I'm using Chrome.

Thank you. Thls is MUCH better and easier to read. Please make this change.

I am using Safari, since i use my ipad most of the time for fsu. I have not tried this on my home computer. It uses MS Edge. I can try my work computer, which uses IE and see what happens.

I too noticed that the new font was much smaller. I liked what we had before the change. It was easier to read.

Hi @Server Guy. Thanks for all your hard work. I'm loving the upgrade.
Re the search function - it used to be that we could choose which forum to search, so we could choose to search only Great Skate Debate, for example. That option to choose a forum seems to have gone. Could we have it back please.

@Server Guy - thanks for changing the font on the titles. Assuming you will be making a similar change to the post contents as well, would you mind also making it a bit bigger, say maybe Verdana 15 point size?
Verdana 15 is really big - and to me, the thread titles look quite large! I think the best way of going about this is to have the titles and other content be relatively similar in size (and differentiated in other ways) so that those who need to increase/decrease font size won't have to sacrifice legibility.

YES, THIS EXAMPLE IS MUCH BETTER, thanks for your help and knowledge, @BittyBug. I don't know one typeface from another, just know this new Tahoma one has not been working for me.

Hopefully, @Server Guy will see our ideas and be able to consider Verdana--it's fuller and rounder and darker--with @SHARPIE, and then perhaps act on changing the font.

Ironically after I quoted the first two paragraphs that you had printed in Verdana, it actually had converted the quotes back to the old Tahoma we don't want, but then used the new paragraph I made (#3 here) in the Verdana we want and then continued it here with my last two paragraphs). Hope this is not too confusing, but hopefully they can clearly see the difference here between the first three paragraphs here, your two quoted here and my first and the other two.

I like the changes so far. The only thing is that my name below my avatar now breaks across the line. Perhaps I'll change my name...

You are right. It is the browser. Just to test, I tried giving a like from my work computer and it automatically gave the sign. Didn't take two steps. So the ipad/Safari does it differently.

I second that request!

This is typed in Verdana (in the default size).

This is typed in Tahoma (in the default size).

A communications specialist told me several years ago that Verdana was more readable and I tend to agree :)

On my phone the fonts look the same, and much easier on the eyes. On my computer there seem to be several different fonts/sizes, and it's too busy visually.

It really does look nice on the phone.
