I haven't kept up with this thread, but found this great Fuji TV interview from 1995. It's actually very sweet.

I dunno, Janney will be a tough ticket to beat.
I don't know if this has been yet posted, but here is the original "I, Tonya"....

My gut is saying Laurie Metcalf.
. . . I actually really like Laurie![]()
But, again, if the Biellman was important, the top ladies would have done it. Which means the top ladies of the time would have worked on it or there would be different top ladies who were capable of it.She wouldn't of gotten hammered at nationals because Nicole Bobek was the only top us lady at the time that could do the beilman.
Even in other interviews, she rubs people the wrong way. I remember after The Whack, I was posting on a Sports message board and a bunch of guys who knew nothing about skating were posting like crazy about it. Every time Tonya was on tv, they (and a few others) would say "she's lying! I can tell she's lying!"Tonya could be sickeningly sweet when she wanted to be. Check out the Rolanda or Oprah interviews. In actual documentaries though, like 30 for 30 or the recent 20/20 Truth and Lies, she just rubs some people the wrong way.
... that's right. i personally love all rebels and non-conformists who break boundaries on and of the ice, Bowman, Bonaly, Bobeck, Candeloro, Sasha chewing gum on the podium and handing fone to president in 2002, Thomas wearing unitard instead of a dress, Kulik's "giraffe", Medvedeva's extra 3X, Weir's costumes, etc..Even in other interviews, she rubs people the wrong way.

But with Tonya, it's not that she drove a truck, or had little money for fancy costumes, or was not a "princess" (I hate "princess")... the best way to describe her is that she constantly brought "troubles" and "dirt" to skating during all years she was an elite skater. She complained, she swore, she wiped her nose with her hand, spit out gum, bragged that she is a "red-neck", made her ugly marriage and relationship with mother into public display, had this or that issue with equipment claiming lack of money while spending them on a pimp-car and other showy junk... and then the "wack". I am not afraid to sound mean, i am not a social worker to have to process all the "Tonya's dirt and filth" when i come to watch skating with reasonable expectation of an aesthetically pleasant event. If i pay for a ticket to Disneyland, i do not need to see how they process garbage and listen to their employees personal difficulties.
... my life is devoted to preservation of "Wholesome American Family"...So, your fairy tale image of the life of figure skaters was shattered when you heard Tonya didn't have a "Wholesome American Family?"

Tonto say you not Oregonian and don't loves the state. Tonto knows! Oregon is clean state, good air and water. The Oregonian loves getting their dirt.
Well, I'm an Oregonian and I'd agree that The Oregonian hasn't been terribly kind to Tonya over the last quarter century.Tonto say you not Oregonian and don't loves the state. Tonto knows! Oregon is clean state, good air and water.

even cut and paste is too good for the story and subject. Not bad for a 24 year old cut and paste rush job that didn’t even cover the 1994 Olys.

Naturally, Button, a former actor, has an opinion on the current figure skating movie, “I, Tonya.”
“I loved it,” he said. “I thought the mother in particular was exceptional. I’m a member of the Screen Actors Guild and I will certainly vote for this.”
Again, it really boils down to the fact that Tonya is stupid - not uneducated - but stupid. "Stupid is as stupid does...."
Well, that is certainly something Kristi would never say, even if it was/is true
... Stupid woman with abusive man, it's like burgers and fries.
Oh, and Eskimo Pies.
