Sports Illustrated predicts Pechalat Bourzat will win silver in Pyeongchang

Wait what? How does Sports Illustrated's "expert" confuse the two time world champs and reigning world silver medalists with a team that retired four years ago? Or maybe the expert only told the author "the French couple" would come in second and the author didn't do any research beyond a quick google for French Ice Dance teams? I'm so confused...

They still have not corrected it, ouch. Natalie for the win, why only Silver:drama:
The author knew it was a french team, she just back to the 2014 team rather than the 2018 team.

Nathalie and Fabian must be thrilled!

Sports Illustrated :gallopin1 :sheep: :slinkaway And to think I was seconds away from linking their team event time schedule in the Oly teams cheer thread. Uh, not... :inavoid:

Fact checking has gone the way of the dodo.

......and editing budgets.
Back in the day I applied to a Masters Program in Journalism and was told the most egregious thing I could do in my application was to have a typo, spelling mistake or major grammatical error. I realized a week after I submitted my application that it did contain a typo. I was automatically out (in hindsight, good thing, but I digress....)

Fast forward a dozen years and we see major outlets posting content at will on the net with an email address to report errors in fact or grammar, spelling etc. There is no proofreading. Zero standards now.

But the Sports Illustrated has it correct...It is the 2nd link that has it wrong.

I pretty much agree with their predictions in all four disciplines. They are reasonable. I want P&C to win the gold in ice dance but V&M have a very good chance of winning it too.
