From Russia with love [#23]: Spring/Summer 2016

New interview with Mozer where she sums up last season:
http://rsport.ru/interview/20160510/920608541.html
Quite weird to tell the truth...

Yes ... in the Google translation, some strange comments from Mozer in that article. I hardly know what to make of them.

I get the feeling that the Mozer group is a little shell-shocked right now. I think there's some stuff going on. You have Trankov, who's possibly the leader of the group after Mozer, and he's opposed to quads. Then you have Klimov and Zabijako both sustaining rather serious injuries this season, it's believed from training either quad or triple Axel elements. I feel there's a certain ambivalence and lack of consensus right now about what their strategy should be going forward. And again, every top pair in the group has been dealing with some type of injury, or recovery from injury, this season, and it's got to be demoralizing. Add to all this Trankov's seeming lack of motivation to continue, the questionable state of Klimov's health, the rivalry(?) between V/T and S/K alluded to in this article ... a lot going on.

I also saw these remarks from Mozer yesterday, which suggested that V/T will probably skip the Grand Prix next year as had been previously reported, and may not even start work for next season until October/November(?!): http://fs-gossips.com/volosozhar-trankov-are-going-to-skip-grand-prix-2016/. I found this quite odd as well.

I need to listen again to our talk from "Ice Legends". I understood that they do plan to start from Nationals. But I guess there is enough time left, they can change this decision till then.
When she says "after October-November" we'll start working again, maybe she means working as preparing hard towards competitions. Probably it doesn't mean that only in November they'll start choreographing thing, etc. And also they plan to skate in shows, so they will be in a certain shape.

Oh dear..How many children does Morozov have and what are their ages? I hope none are her age..That gets icky to me.
Well with the tender 22 year age gap between Davankova and Morozov it wouldn't even be that weird if he has a kid close to her age, he'd have become a father in his 20s so yeah.

In any event, Davankova seems to be living the life in Jersey these days so if marrying Morozov makes her happy for the time being then I suppose it's fine. I just don't want anything bad to happen to her because you can't really blame a girl for being naive and easily persuaded at the age of 17/18, it's pretty much to be expected lol.

Morozov has one daughter, Annabelle, who I think is 15. :slinkaway But I have yet to see any receipts that Morozov is actually Davankova's husband...where are they?

Starting working in October-November means missing the GP events. The nationals, I guess, are in December, assume they will be allowed to compete without participating the test skates and the Russian cup skates, but then there is a danger of what happened this year repeating: them having to go to the worlds if the other teams are injured.

It might not be him. But she is/was in Paris as of a few days ago and is living in Edgewater, NJ otherwise.

Yes, of course, it means missing GP events. But in the link quoted above (from http://fs-gossips.com/) it was written "and probably Russian Nationals too". Hence clarification I wrote. They didn't say anything about how they see their season after that, Euros only, or Euros and Worlds. I guess it also can change till then.

Morozov does no age because he is a vampire.
I dont know why this is still an unknown thing.
Guy is pale and uses self tanner to resamble mortals, wears black all the time, especcially that black coat, women are drawn to and he is always with young (virginal) ones, who obviously make him younger.

I think you are counting it relatively to their ages, whereas I am looking at the total numbers. Henry VIII had some stamina in his last 15 years and we don't know if Morozov will be as ...potent...
So even though relatively Morozov did sail past him, to win the race he still has some job to do and unlike Henry he may slow down in his later age. But never mind, he is doing pretty well indeed and currently has some advantage.
Henry VIII procrastinated until his forties and so had to really rush to meet the deadline(which was shortened because he got fat and gouty). Meanwhile Morozov has paced himself quite nicely and even took breaks to prevent burnout while still being very much ahead. Remember, slow and steady wins the race.

But does he only come out at night?

Has Morozov been in Paris lately?
I'm surprised though that Morozov is so keen on marrying these young women. He also said in an interview that he would've married Miki if not for her mother. If he's just interested in teenage girls, why bother marrying them? Why not just date them? It's not as though girls that age are really looking for marriage anyway. Is he trying to prove to the world that (this time) he's "serious"?

Let us not get ahead of ourselves. Do we know for certain that Vasilisa married Morozov?

No idea, but the fact that she's always posting about her love on twitter and instagram but never posts any pictures of this lover (now her husband!) makes me think that it might be Morozov. If it was a random guy her age there would probably be pictures of him, even if he was much older but unknown, you would think she wouldn't have reservations posting pictures, but if it is Morozov, then suddenly the lack of pictures makes sense...But alas. I do not know for certain. I just heard at Euros that Davankova and Morozov were seen out and about together, not that it really means anything. And that was months ago, I wouldn't put it past a Russian diva to meet someone new and get married in 4 months time :drama:

Anyone know how long she's been living in New Jersey?

The fact that we don't have any proof doesn't mean that it can't be the truth. The bottom line is, Morozov and Davankova were definitely in relationship in January this year. So either she married him, or she married someone after a very brief three months relationship (if, for the sake of the argument, she split up with Morozov immediately after the Europeans). Which is not impossible that she would marry someone after having only three month relationship, but I think the probability is more on Morozov.

Pinky, it wasn't that Morozov and Davankova were only 'seen' together at the Europeans. They were definitely in relationship. I was in the same hotel! They didn't even try to hide it.

There is third option. She calls him husband but they are not married legally.
It's not unusual in Russia or ex-SSSR.
LOL, I know some ladies who call their lovers "husbands" even when these men are married to other women!

Someone posted there question about whether she got married and she responded yes.

If this marriage (to Morozov) really took place, wouldn't there be an announcement of some kind from Morozov? It's not a requirement but I don't see him as the type to hide it.

"Coaches Counsil" of RusFed recommended to include Plush in the main team
http://rsport.ru/figure_skating/20160511/921218792.html
:rofl::watch::plush:

If I understand well he is and was in the reverse team .. http://tass.ru/sport/3272663
"After the April meeting of the Expert Council of the Ministry of Sports of the Russian Federation, which was devoted to the results of the season in figure skating, it was noted that the 33-year-old Plushenko is still in the reserve team."

But it's funny, yes...

The actively competing younger skater(s) who will be left out of the team so he can retain a spot probably won't find it so funny.
