UPDATE: He is being released on Tuesday after being hospitalized since November 19th. I'm talking Tuesday and Wednesday off so I can bring him home and get him settled. I hired home care to be with him after Wednesday. I will hear from the doctor on Monday as to when my husband will start outpatient care. The home care will drive him to and from therapy, sit with him at home and drive him anyplace he wants. Once he feels confident enough to drive himself and stay home alone, we can discontinue the home care.

Sounds like a good plan @judiz. Good luck with the transition to home. Hope the home care will help him feel comfortable to be there without you and you can be at work with a clear head.

Sorry to hear this, judiz. It must be frustrating to be given this news so late in the process. However, it is good to know the doctor is thinking of your husband's interests; he probably doesn't want him to jeopardize the gains he has made. I am hoping there will be a spot in the outpatient program on Tuesday so that you and your husband have a little more certainty in your lives.

The doctors thought so, he said he wanted to go home, I really don't know.

Just wanted to add my hugs and support for you Judiz, I really can't imagine how difficult it must be for you, I do recall the stress my mom felt when my dad was getting released from his brain injury time in the hospital even though he wasn't quite ready he needed to be home.. hard to know whats for the best. I remember my mom saying she was taking it day by day - even hour by hour.. but important that you also get support and give yourself a break ((( Judiz )))
