Whether we like the skating, or agree with the judging, the first 8 teams of the event skated cleanly, and so being the first team with a red box is going to hurt their score, and their standing. Phantom of the Opera has been done so many times that skaters/couples need to bring something new to the interpretation, and that did not happen in this program.

105.98 = 6th Place
179.33 = 5th Place

I don't fully comprehend the marks of DavSmolkin. I thought they were among the worst so far, very slow, bad ice coverage, lazy moves.

I guess it's one of nature's mystery.
