This program... WTH is this tango dance break? Pardon me again while I crack up laughing at people who think THIS is the program that's going to get them to the top of the Worlds podium. That might be even more WTF than GuigFab's robot program, which at least has Euro-trashy weird going for it.

Who? Chock/Bates' RD? Their FD is fine (except for Madi's costume). Their RD needs major re-working, but they have time to do that - they completely re-worked their FD two years ago in the 3 weeks between SkAm and NHK, so I feel confident they can re-do their RD in the same amount of time this year, because it's not good right now. At all.

Yeah, their RD is a big miss. Their FD is fine, going off their score alone, and it will get a decent home Worlds PCS bump in Boston.
I hate GuigFab's RD too, and GilPoir's has potential but they need to work on their speed - a LOT. Their FD is a bigger problem, and they've never really demonstrated a willingness to re-visit and majorly re-do a bad FD in the last several seasons, so I sort of think they're going to, stubbornly, stick with it and the only reason they won't fall off the podium is because FearGib's FD is equally bad.

I never, ever would have foreseen that a program that has Tim Dieck skating in it would wow me but the Dune program is a real stand out this season . I can actually remember it ....

I woke up just in time to see B/S. I don't care that he fell. He's my favorite American male skater. I'm ready to start a petition to get him a new partner. It was all I could think about during the RD

I’d like to see them switch coaches rather than partners. They have a good unison together and Bratti is one of the top female dancers in the U.S., certainly better than Flores and whoever else may be available.

I just think LaLa are much better skaters than 3/4 of the world’s top 4 atm (I think the Italians are both excellent). I loved their program, it had so much tension. G/P didn’t do it for me today, and I love them

What a wonderful performane they gave ... brought me to tears in the closing moments. Instant full standing ovation from the audience ... and so deserved.
(And I absolutely LOVE Disturbed's version of Sound of Silence).

I saw it live today and it is absolutely stunning. The closing moves had everyone on their feet for a standing O with many of them (including me) in tears.

Popping in my random comment about what I get to watch. This time during my lunch break at work.

Lopareva/Brissaud are now officially my favourite team. Lurve that FD. That Sliding Move where she throws her leg over his head while sliding on her knee. Amazing control. Great choreography and love the music choice for them.

G&P are so smooth, fluid and work seamlessly together which I really appreciate. The quality is amazing. But the music choice doesn't quite do it for me as what their RD did. Still you have to judge on what they do and they certainly are one of the top teams out there. And I think it is a better than Chock/Bates and Fear/Gibson.

As a random side note. Saw Uplifter which is one of the sponsors on the boards. I use them for one of our registration databases here in Australia. And recently had a meeting with Andrew Poje who now works for them. Lovely guy.

Apologies for my FD coverage. On a flight and battling in-air WiFi. Trying to load the stream

LIM/QUAN - KOR Fabulous "Cruella" FD. Their Neck Hook lift has the fastest entrance I have ever seen! He got very close to her in 2nd Tw and bobbled, losing a level. I LOVE their speed and intensity. Polished performance. Struggling with levels.

BRATTI/SOMERVILLE - USA Devastating fall for him on 1st Tw. Almost crashed with her and fell trying to avoid. Probably lost 9 points for that error. The rest of the program was absolutely beautiful. Emotional, connected. They have some of the best SS among their peers.101.6 3rd

TASCHLEROVA/TASCHLER - CZE Really great performance. Looking clean, energetic, connected, and their speed is tops. Long edges in 1ft. I like the cartwheel over her back in the ChSt. Sig hands
Ben, do you think they are generally underscored, or are there some nuanced things that they aren’t quite getting that is costing them? Also, is he holding them back? I just find her so impressive and she always seems disappointed with their scores.
I haven't felt that they are being underscored. They have been missing some levels lately which has really cost them. There is still more intricacy in holds and changes of hold that I think would boost their PCS. I think they are very well matched and I always love watching them

ZINGAS/KOLESNIK - USA WOW! I love their connection & intensity and I LOVE this program. The first half draws you into such a special world. The 2nd half hits Hard! L2 Tws called... she looked like she stopped travelling in the 2nd. Review. 114.78 2nd

LOPAREVA/BRISSAUD - FRA These 2 are brilliant. Incredible flow and edge quality. Inspired by their Matrix show program last season. Love the ChAssisted jumps and the upsidedown lift! Really close together on Tw. She kicks over his head in the ChSlide! Bravo.

LAJOIE/LAGHA - CAN Now that's what I'm talking about!! Amazing recovery from the RD fall. Gorgeous choreo to Sound of Silence. Such emotion between them. Best Tw in the world imho...close, fast, and covered nearly 2/3 rink length. Brilliant!
This is what they need to keep doing if they want to overtake G/P to make their way up the Worlds podium.

GILLES/POIRIER - CAN This is some of the hardest content. Brilliantly skated. QUALITY! The tango break in the middle is some of the best tango ice dance I have seen in a long time. The change of direction in the combo lift has so much momentum with her pos change
It's clear they are aiming for the top spot on the Worlds podium and the rest of the field had better step up! Bravo!!128.4, 214.18 total into 1st!

This was a terrific competition! Z/K were off to an amazing start, but couldn't quite hold off T/T who were spectacular! L/B looked better than ever. Lala overcoming the fall in RD to deliver a breathtaking FD... Future WC! G/P RD is maybe my favorite prog from them ever. Wow!!
