I know I'm late to expressing this sentiment, but given their previous partnerships, it's just nice to see Katarina and Dimitry thrive together. Like cosmically meant to be. Congrats to them on 2nd place in the RD!

Male from Newington, CT, United States: Goals for this season would be to train hard and show well by early summertime. I’m hoping we could get 1-2 JGP assignments representing Team USA and my own personal goal would be to podium at Nationals and earn a slot at Junior Worlds.

All three teams in the top ten, C/B with the threepeat, C/P top 5, this has been a great worlds for the US. Really pleased that G/Pa are back on track, they looked great.

William Lissauer announced he will be partnering with Aneta Vaclavikova who represented Slovakia on the junior circuit last season with her previous partner. They will be representing the US.

Bit of an age gap there -- 14 and 18. It might work out all right -- it seems to be working all right for another House of Diamonds team -- but it'll keep them in juniors for quite a while.

Hoping Emily Renzi will be able to find a partner too but unfortunately it will probably be a lot more difficult for her than for Will. I really enjoyed their partnership but personally always found Emily to be a bit of a stronger skater than him.

Abo/Ves are working with Dimitry Chaplin (of So You Think You Can Dance and Dancing with the Stars) on their new programs. I'll he very interested to see what they come up with. That Mozart program will be hard to top, but I hope they've got something good.

I was told that they were already asking about going back to Zoueva when I was at Skate America by someone who has never failed me with info but I just thought it was so off the wall. I similarly cannot believe this is actually happening. I’m having a hard time figuring out where I think they will end up in terms of pecking order.
But it certainly potentially changes things. Plus Laurence and Guillaume and suddenly the top 4/5 may not be quite so clear.

Definitely did not expect that. It has been a long time so it will be interesting to see where they end up in relation to other teams and if/how their skating has changed.

Will be funny if Chock/Bates become a USA n.2 and lose the Olympic gold to Gilles/Poirier.
If they became US #2 wouldn't the Shibs ideally be ahead of them in the Olympics, too?
And just what about Guillaume and Laurence? That's it, they are destined for FORTH.

I loved the ShibSibs in their day, but I'm gonna nope out on this. There are few enough spots on the GP for the teams we have and they're going to take 2 away from some deserving non-host fed teams.

I did. I might be interested enough to be devoted to figure skating again.
For all we know, they might place 10th at Nationals or something.
I remember in 2018, Maia said they intended to continue to 2022, but then she had her cancer diagnosis and has been open about how much longer it had been taking her to recover and the frustrations around it. So this comeback might be their way of getting closure.

lets be so for real here - USFS would never let that happen. In a 5+ goe era they can be placed exactly where USFS want them - duking it out for the title with CB.
It will be interesting to see how their programmes go, because their previous style was so much more focused on crisp and clear tech - how will they approach the laden with choreo elements and 5+ goe judging?

What reason is there to think USFS would want to boost them that way?
I think its just as likely they are giving it a shot and may or may not still be able to be competitive.
Have they been skating all this time? In shows or something?

I don't think Marina and Massimo would be by their side encouraging it if they didn't think they could be competitive at the top.
I don't read anything into that besides 'hey, they are former Olympic medalists, they are back to try for another Olympics, let's get some excitement' in it. Now if the USFS goes and does interviews promoting them as their #1 team hope....for a start the way that USFS have announced it on social media

Of course they’d decide to come back just in time for the Olympic season while all the other teams have been putting in the work for years to get those spots. You know USFS will fall over backwards for them. Don’t they have some more red carpets to walk somewhere to keep them busy?
