Ugh.... so sickened to see Russia - the great cheaters - back in, in any form. I`ll look at the Russia thread to read about all of it. It was such a refreshing breeze to have a couple years without this hanging over our heads.
I also believe that the absence of Russia's huge shadow over the world of Euros has allowed all of us to see and appreciate several OES women skaters that we may not have seen so in depth. In the lead-up to Beijing, it was 3 Eteri-bots at Euros, maybe Tuk, then Louna. The rest of the Euro women were barely mentioned. Now, for example, skaters like the Ninas get much more attention. I don't think broadcasters would have gone into much detail abouth them with the presence of Russia. Refreshing!

I was gonna say the same thing, especially since about a week ago they took out the Ukraine’s last figure skating rink. Could you imagine being a Ukrainian skater and you have to see them and that they just took out their last figure skating rink and now here you are having to compete in figure skating with them.
NBC took down the video of Alysa's Worlds winning FS but aired it again in its entirety on yesterday's Chasing Gold show, which is now available on YT. I'm not sure how long they'll keep the episode up, but here's the segment with Alysa -

Also, they started off the episode with a replay of Ilia's Worlds winning FS. They mentioned Chock/Bates but didn't show their winning FD again.

Sweets, NBC took the original videos down - look at when those were posted & the # of views. The original version of Alysa's FS was at something like 3.2 million views before they took it down. And her SP was somewhere around 850k, IIRC. These are new versions that weren't up last week.

I just looked again at the links - they're from WTT, not Worlds.
She skated great at WTT, but the energy in the arena in Tokyo was nothing like the energy in TD Garden and it came through in the broadcasts of both competitions - that observation is true not just for Alysa, but pretty much all the skaters. WTT was fun, but it felt very low energy compared to Worlds.
Liu showed she didn’t need the energy of the crowd.
It may have been different feelz had Kagiyama won silver with great performances and/or Sakamoto defended her title to become the first four-in-row in decades.
My AppleWatch is still recovering from the noise level in the TD Garden when Alysa finished her lp (and when the scores came up), including my personal contribution to it.

Yup. I don’t have any data but it went ROAR when she landed the last jump, LOUDER when the TES tracker updated after her footwork, and RIDICULOUSLY LOUD when she finished. I’ve been in the Garden for big events, but I have never heard it that loud.

Oh my gosh, are you going to perform today at the comedy store? I would come and see you for sure. I could bring five friends to get tickets to see your show. So who should be banned just Putin and the soldiers that destroyed?? You having some strange idea how life works.
No need to reply back to this and derail the thread. But private message me and let me know if you’re going to be at the comedy store this weekend, my friends and I we will come see you…. Do you know what the drink minimum will be? Let us know.

Speaking of Alysa, I have watched her LP a few more times. I am disappointed in one thing - that it cuts off just as I am about to trill along with Donna Summer .. 'I recall a yelloooww cotton dressss'
But stepping onto the mountain that January day in Tahoe, she no longer felt the weight of pressure or expectation. Gliding along in the cold, her legs burning, she felt a familiar twinge of excitement.
“I got flashbacks,” she said. “I really love skiing and I want to ski all the time, but the mountains are not accessible. So what’s the next best thing to skiing? An ice rink. I thought, ‘Dang, could skating be fun?’”
Based on some clips I saw on Instagram, it looks like Isabeau is skating to a version of her snake program on the Stars on Ice tour. And this time she’s doing it in a fantastic black unitard. Petition to bring this program back next year with the upgraded costume! I always thought the program was very good, just the costume needed to change.

She seemed to love the original costume, but she went through a big growth spurt last summer, and I doubt it fits. I actually liked that snake costume even though I sometimes don't like her costumes very much. I do like the unitard costume, too. I wonder if that is her own costume or part of the SOI collection. Isabeau and Lia and Maddie Schizas were talking about wearing costumes previously worn by other skaters. (Isabeau was very excited that she has one that Evgenia Medvedeva wore). But, they didn't say which particular costumes they were.
ETA: Nevermind. It's definitely a costume made for her for this program. In previous videos, the unitard just looks black and sparkly. But, in these photos posted by the maker, you can see a golden snake going up her leg, back, and around her arm:

I doubt she's going to bring the snake program back. It was too packed with choreography, and being off just a little bit would throw her off. She ended up changing to a different program later in the season.
She is also doing her Breakfast at Tiffany's program for SOI. (That is one costume of hers that I do like.) That was one of my favorite programs this season, and I think it works well for her. She didn't get to compete with it very much. So, I wouldn't mind at all if she keeps it for next season.
I'm really glad that she's part of the SOI main cast this year. She's doing several different group numbers with different skaters and with Kurt as choreographer. I think it will be great for her development as an artist and performer.
ETA: I think it's cute that the other skaters keep helping Isabeau promote her Red Bull sponsorship. Wearing a wings necklace is a nice touch:
