"The Walking Dead": Any fans here?

I get you. True. The Walking Dead is a show with a crazy high body count.

The Dead Lesbian thing - it's a tired old storyline. The gays do not get happy endings.

There's a happy ending for the gay male couple back at Alexandra, in that both of them are still alive. But you never see them (well, one of them you see every ten episodes or so). So apparently they are kept in a closet somewhere and let out for seasonal showings.

Have I mentioned before how much I love Carol?

She doesn't want to kill you, you morons. But she will. So you should just turn around and head back to where ever it is you are from, because Carol will f*ck you up. Quickly.

I hate that Morgan gets to say what he said to Rick on the field. If he never let the long hair Wolf live the two times he had the chance to kill him, there might not even be a Wolves invasion (killing lots of people) and the issue of Denise saving Carl would be moot; or even if it was part Aaron's fault and the Wolves would have come anyway - the long hair Wolf would still never had the chance to hold Denise hostage in the first place.

And Daryl is going to be on next week's Talking Dead right after the season finale... :shuffle: Chris Hardwick didn't even say "it doesn't mean anything" like he normally does...

Loved the Johnny Cash intro. :respec:

So...what are all the gorgeous women of Alexandria seeing in Abraham...that is going completely over my head? That he's the only single dude there other than Eugene and...Carl??

Loved the Mad Max (oops, I meant MAD CAROL) car get-up with the spikes coming out from all angles! But really, everybody knows now that you gotta kill all potential threats three times. Carol letting two of the five have a chance of taking her out...our girl is way better than that! Now this is going to be gruesome, so don't read on if you're squeamish. Do squeamish people watch The Walking Dead?? Okay, so if somebody attacks me (in The Walking Dead world...not necessarily real life... :D), and I have to take them out for the sake of me staying alive... Well, I'm going to stab each person five times in the head from various directions. I will stab them in the heart area about ten times to make sure I got a good stab through the heart to make sure they're dead. I'd probably stab five times in each lung area as well. It's like chewing each bite of food 25 times. 25 stabs per attempted murderer. Never take chances! Similarly, Rick and Morgan should assume there were six or eight or ten people in the struck. Carol killed four and the other six went after her. Assume there's more danger out there than what might be the case until you confirm the numbers with Carol. Rick and Morgan are both too smart to not be aware that there could be others from the truck hiding in the bushes...or elsewhere.

ITA.

I don't find anything even remotely attractive about Abraham. He's a jerk, and he's not very bright, and I hated the way he dumped Rosita. I think he's trying to a 'manly man', insofar as I understand the term. But he's not pulling it off very well.

Plus, he needs a good haircut. All that orange standing up on his head does nothing to enhance his appeal.

After Carol disappeared a number of the group just went walkabouts in the forest or in the meadows. These were among those TWD moments where you you go  "WTF were they thinking?"

I hope the Neagan situation is resolved satisfactorily next week, although it's more likely we'll be left with a cliffhanger that won't be resolved until the series returns next October?

This.

Okay, so last week, everyone is out running around like nincompoops so they can get captured. This week, clearly, the Saviors are blocking all your access points to Hilltop, and while I'm sorry for Maggie, turn the f*ck around and go back to Alexandria. This is also why you don't let your only doctor go on supply runs.

I'm so tired of the writers having everyone act out of character (Dwight gets the drop on Daryl? Really? Twice?) so we can set up terrible things to happen.

Oh, and i was not impressed with Negan's monologue. Kill someone and get it over with it.

Yeah, by the second or third roadblock, Rick should have figured that out and headed back home (and gotten started on some epic fortifying of the base). But it was very interesting to see him mentally unravel more and more as he saw the true numbers and capabilities of the Saviors and began to realize there was no beating them. I half-expected him to volunteer to be Lucille's victim, he was clearly so crushed at his failure.

THAT'S WHAT YOU GET FOR NOT DOING PROPER RECONNAISSANCE. Can't spell it, but I know it's necessary before making a promise to beat these guys. Surely the Hilltop people had more info about the Saviors' numbers.

I was hoping Eugene would have the guts to take the camper to one of the roadblocks manned by about 20 Saviors and use it as a bomb. Take out as many as he could. But nope, that's not Eugene.

Yeah, not letting us know who died was a bit lame. But in my view, Rick's unravelling was the point of this episode, not someone's death. As to the victim--we know it's not Rick or Carl, and it's probably not any of the women because the Saviors would view them as property. I'm guessing Glenn or Abraham.

I think, based on what Negan said right before he swung the bat, the only people it absolutely isn't is Rick and Carl.

Agreed. Talking Dead said the camera was jumping around so that people were shown out of order, making it impossible to tell. Other than it not being Rick or Carl, there is no way to know - apparently the cast hasn't even been told yet.

Just my theory-

I'm thinking Abraham met Lucille. All through the season, his storyline was a bit more amped up than any other secondary character. The way he laid on the ground at Hilltop after the fight. The way he dumped Rosita. The way he was curious as to why Maggie and Glenn would have a child during the apocalypse. In the comics, Abraham was shot in the eye instead of Denise. I think they saved Abraham to take Glenns place with Lucille on the show, unlike the comics. If you notice during the scene where the Saviors were spray painting the red X on the Librarian laying in the road, Abrahams' face was in the rear view mirror watching the whole time (Why would they film it like that?). Maybe Rosita is pregnant by Abraham and doesn't know yet, and she takes the place of Maggie as the pregnant woman with a dead daddy. And - Since they weren't allowed to speak, I can just see Rosita "blinking" in morse code to Sasha - "He's all yours now bitch" as Abraham was getting his head bashed in.

I think you could be right, there is definitely something going on with Abraham. And didn't he have some sort of discussion with Sasha in this show about having a baby as well?

I don't agree that what Negan said meant Rick and Carl were safe. Maybe Rick was, a little bit, since he would have to eat the eye, but not Carl. You can still eat a dead kid's eye, no?

I agree that Abraham is suddenly getting a lot more story this season, so that could be something. Daryl and Glenn on the other hand, did not have much air time at all, so I think they should be safe. Carl also has a moment in this episode where Enid said "what if you don't come back?!"...

Of course they are stringing us along. How else to end the season other than with a cliffhanger?

Also, wasn't Glenn behind Negan when he looked down the line for his victim? Glenn, Darryl, and Michonne (and Sasha?) were all dumped from a locked structure and landed right opposite of the group. Glenn tried to cross the space between them when Negan threatened Maggie, and was pulled back.

We didn't see that group into the line, so perhaps they aren't among the possible victims.

Wow, that final act was one of the slooooowest endings to a show's season eeeeeeeeeeeeevvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvveeeeeeeeeeeeeeeerrrrrr..... I know the director was trying to make it dramatic and suspenseful, but each scene...even ever shot...was so loooooooooooong and sloooooooooooooow. Plus I thought Jeffrey Dean Morgan's portrayal of Negan wasn't particularly great. Andrew Lincoln acted better in that final act and I'm not sure if he even had any dialogue. Just the look in his eyes spoke volumes.

Lame. They are stringing us along so now I don't even care who it is.

Yeah, they already did this to us with Glenn this season and making us wait three episodes to see what happened to him. And now we have to wait six months to get an answer to who met Lucille. That said, the blackout at the end with the crunching sound of Lucille made me wince in my chair. Well done...maybe too well done!

Okay, so last week, everyone is out running around like nincompoops so they can get captured.

This has been standing operating procedure for years, though. People just going off on their own. While what should have been happening was that everyone be gardening from sunup to sundown. Letting your food supply get so low that you have to leave your protected environment? Come on, people!

This is also why you don't let your only doctor go on supply runs.

This is why every person in the community does an hour of medical training every morning and a second hour of medical training every evening. EVERYBODY IS THE VILLAGE DOCTOR.

I'm so tired of the writers having everyone act out of character (Dwight gets the drop on Daryl? Really? Twice?) so we can set up terrible things to happen.

Just because we see Daryl as Superman doesn't mean there isn't somebody out there with a superior skill set to Daryl. It appears Dwight is that guy.

Oh, and i was not impressed with Negan's monologue. Kill someone and get it over with.

I guess it was too much to ask for somebody to look Negan in the eye and say, "for f***'s sake, bitch...just get the f*** on with it!!"

Someone online had capped a screen shot of the bash and the shadow of the victim was wearing a hat so that would mean Carl.

Unlikely because the father-son bond is one that Negan can exploit to his advantage.

Negan pointed in another direction when he mentioned Carl and then proceeded to hit the person in front of him. I think whatever hat shadow there was in the shot is incidental. They knew they weren't going to show the full beating so it could have been a stage hand sitting in.

I refuse to believe the expert tracker didn't pick up on the fact that there was a whole group of people out in the woods. OR THAT THEY DIDN'T HEAR THEM. That was just plot contrivance to set up the final scene.

Someone on previously.tv posted "they could've made it to Hilltop just by driving through one of the plot holes."

The biggest plot hole being how did Negan's group know that our group would run right through that exact point in the woods? meh.

I give up. It doesn't matter anyway. Whatever slight clue they leave can be disregarded next season, like the boy at the finale of 6A was supposed to be saying "mum, mum, mum..." and at the premier of 6B, the whole voice disappeared.

Have they even made up their minds yet? Maybe they haven't shot the scenes that follow the bash?

Shooting starts in May, so I'm guessing by now they know who it is since I assume the scripts are written. I'm wondering if they really hadn't decided who died when they shot that.

One thing about Sunday's episode that drove me a bit crazy was people making themselves targets. Ever since Denise was killed, everyone should be aware that you can be taken out most easily when you are standing in the middle of an open area. But we saw Morgan walking through an open field when he could have walked along a treeline (or better yet, just past the treeline). We saw Abraham driving the RV, with everyone else in the back except for Sasha in the passenger seat. Someone should have been right next to him in case he was shot, or if The Saviours shot out any of the tires on the RV. (Why they didn't do that upon their first encounter didn't make sense. Unless they are so sadistic that they were playing cat and mouse the entire day.) Then Father Gabriel shows a newfound sense of having it together, making even Rick feel confident. But then he goes and stands on one of the watch towers with most of his body visible, just ready for someone who has decent skills with a gun to take him out. Carol did a similar thing later, but I'll cut her some slack as she's in despair. And that she's Carol, that's enough reason to give her a pass.

THAT'S WHAT YOU GET FOR NOT DOING PROPER RECONNAISSANCE. Can't spell it, but I know it's necessary before making a promise to beat these guys. Surely the Hilltop people had more info about the Saviors' numbers.

I think all of this shows how strong a group The Saviours are. They don't all live in one place. They never let any outside have any awareness of who they all are. Or how many of them there are. An outside group, unless especially both large and skilled, could never do enough reconnaissance in regards to The Saviours. As for the Hilltop people and numbers, I believe Rick or somebody asked them about the numbers. The Hilltop person said they weren't really sure. They might have given a guess, but I think they said something about how they knew of Saviours they had never seen, so they could never really know an accurate number.

I was hoping Eugene would have the guts to take the camper to one of the roadblocks manned by about 20 Saviors and use it as a bomb. Take out as many as he could. But nope, that's not Eugene.

I don't think our group is at the desperate a stage just yet. They weren't aware of how large, skilled and sadistic The Saviours were until they had all been captured. And I fear they still don't know how extreme this group is. Although I did wonder if Eugene was to lead away as many Saviours as he could and if he got caught, would he shoot himself in the head rather than be captured? But your idea is better, if Eugene was at the point of deciding it was time to die, he should take out as many Saviours as he could have.

I think it is unreasonable for them to keep going after they have been trapped/ blocked so many times. It's obvious the Saviours were after them and were forcing them to pick the route the Saviours wanted them to pick. Question though: why would the Saviours know a group of Alexandrians were desperate to get to Hilltop? Coz anyone who wasn't crazily desperate in that situation would be logical enough to turn back and fortify their home base instead, knowing they were now a target.

In other news, Morgan killed someone. For Carol's life. Hopefully Morgan and Carol can turn back to killing machines. (are they going to become a couple?) Whatever happened to that cell that Morgan built?

I've heard rumors :sekret: that the cell will come into play next season. But I may or may not be watching. I haven't decided yet.

or maybe I'll hate watch it like I plan to do with Fear the Walking Dead.

I also can't believe that the flight episode also ended on a cliffhanger and I'm supposed to go online and see what happened? No. I will not.
