Marlena was possessed again in 2021.

Possessed Doug was hilarious and you could tell Bill Hayes was having a ball. It makes for a fun memory. It was hilarious. The devil jumped from Doug to Marlena, then to Belle, then to Johnny, then to Ali. Tripp saved the day when the devil was in him by jumping out a window. He was dead, but the "ghost" of Bo healed him.![]()
I loved Maree Cheatham when she played Colton Shore’s mother on GH.A day behind, but I’m watching the DOOL episodes dealing with the death of Bill Hayes who played Doug Williams starting in 1948.
I only started watching the show in the early 80s but they invited back actors who played family members and it’s great to see Gloria Loring back (she looks fabulous) and other actors I’ve known in other roles like Stephen Schnetzer (LOVED him on Another World) and Maree Cheatham (Search for Tomorrow).
The flashbacks were nice too. So much nostalgia…![]()
I started watching it. Been a big fan of Tamara Tunie ever since As The World Turns and love seeing her in this. Jon Lindstrom is back to playing a bad guy so that should be fun too. I missed seeing his wife (Cady McClain), who plays Dani’s friend.
They have money so the sets and the clothes are great.
There are supposed to be 20 main characters and 20 secondary ones and I’m having trouble figuring out who’s who, but I’ll get there.
I think Martin is moving towards coercive control of his husband so the bad acting and the lack of chemistry between them makes everything yuck.
I can watch it live on CBS, but there are no on demand options in Canada and it’s opposite General Hospital in my market so I may miss a good chunk of it.
The PlutoTV app, which is free streaming, has the first week’s episodes if you have access to it.
My friend was a personal assistant to one of the actors on Santa Barbara so we were allowed on the set to see them film an episode. Very interesting. Lane Davies was a sweetie pie.
I saw several theatrical plays Davies was in while he was based in L.A.I remember reading an article years ago, in which Davies said his true love was theater. He started theater companies of his own when he was based in the LA area and has remained active in theater.
There were some remarkable theater actors in soaps. I remember going through the Balanchine Catalogue, which listed every piece of his choreography the compilers could find. Besides the years working on Broadway shows and in Hollywood, Balanchine did a bunch of freelance choreography for theater productions and operas after he had a ballet company of his own. One listing was for choreography for a 1951 Broadway production of Romeo and Juliet, where Douglas Watson, who played Mackenzie Cory on Another World, was Romeo to Olivia de Havilland's Juliet.
