Here's my deal about the book and everything else regarding the family. We've seen so much covered on the news throughout the years about Princess Diana's death. We've seen personal interviews from Princess Diana regarding her children, William and Harry, Princess Diana's divorce from Prince Charles (now King Charles of course), etc. etc. etc.
The question is regarding the book, Spare. I think at times I might like to read it, and then I don't. Perhaps some personal and private matters shouldn't be written about. I guess it's up to the person writing about it and whether he or she feels it's necessary.
I think of all the scandal and deceit of some of our past Presidents, and it's a lot! I also think about how I could have written a book about my multimillionaire boss and the corporation he owned in my small town. He embezzled through the government, went to prison for five years and still came out as a multimillionaire.
The FBI wanted to put me in a witness protection program until I testified before the grand jury at the Federal Court Building. It was so serious about what he did. He even transferred the money he embezzled into gold bullion and was going to escape on his six-seater two engine plane. The FBI confiscated his plane, however, before he could get away.
His father wanted to adopt my mom when she was 9 years old. It was the depression, and my mom lived in what was practically a shack next door to him. My mom's daddy abandoned them when she was 5. That was in 1939, and he left my grandmother and 3 children. My mom was best friends and went to school with his daughter which was my boss's older sister.
Everyone in my town had high regards for my boss. He had prestige in other words. Even banks in town treated him like "royalty" whenever he showed up. I was also treated with prestige whenever I would walk into the main bank that my boss did business with. The bank president would stop what he was doing to personally greet me.
I could have easily written a book about what happened with my experiences, and it would have had several chapters. It probably would have ended up as a Lifetime movie.
I decided not to do that, however because of the can of worms it would have opened up. I also went to school with his two children which was elementary through high school. I just couldn't do it because of my morals.
I wrote a poem about that very thing which is included in my book of poetry I published in 2007. I guess you could say I wrote poetry about my personal experiences in life which was a good way to do it.
The poem I'm sharing is freestyle and I wrote it December 24, 2005.
I didn't write my novel for that very reason because of the can of worms that would be opened and how many people and friends it could hurt. It's a decision that each of us have to make and realizing the consequences that could follow.
