hmm the commentator from b eurosport is very knowledgable he says they were very difficult in the second set if there was level errors he would have pointed it out.
ah okay sorry I guess they will have to make changes.Difficulty has nothing to do with it. Of course it's difficult. It just didn't meet the rules for level 4, nor level 3 for that matter.
Spot on ! That's almost word for word what Romain Haguenauer explained to me in an interview this afternoon. [That also answers a question @cocotaffy, in the IDF thread, wanted to be asked and that I found very pertinent].I count 21 steps in the keypoints for the pattern this season. (If not counting the men's & women's steps separately, in which case there would be many more). There are 49 steps total. So no, I wouldn't say the keypoints are a small part. They are a huge chunk of the pattern this season. I think this has to be a large part of why so many teams are having such a hard time. Last year, there was only 1 part of the pattern, and the keypoints only included 8 steps.

I suppose the other question is why so many more keypoints this year? Is that a purposeful change that they will continue with or just specific to the TR and not necessarily something that will be the case in the future?
I'm under the impression they are mixing it up. I don't think we are sure if there will even be a pattern for the Broadway program next season. Correct?
I assumed it would be a pattern step like in the 2016-2017 season, except instead of being one of the patterns, it's the only pattern.I'm under the impression they are mixing it up. I don't think we are sure if there will even be a pattern for the Broadway program next season. Correct?
Yes.Will H&B make Final if they finish 4th here?
Too much math for me tonight.....
From one extreme to the other!
There probably should be no GOE for the compulsory sequence. You either do the features and get the points, or you don't.
The juniors will be debuting Kaliszek/Spodiriev's Tea Time Foxtrot, but the seniors will have to make their own pattern next season.
But finally a truly original dance. Whooopppeeee!!!
It is great to see Team Katsalapov finally coming into their own. I hope they can medal at worlds this year!
Does this mean they're going to back to the OSP but with no set rhythm? That was one of the best versions of the OD, so I hope that's what they were aiming for.

Not sold on the slow part but ready to love the second half. Lovely lifts though and the first one is certainly a departure. The FD everyone is waiting to see.

And I must say, the music isn't as bad as I thought.
Same here. But I love the crescendo effect and it wouldn't be possible without starting that way. To be frank, I'm not at all a fan of Yamagata but I was expecting to like the program anyway because they're capable of skating to "Tata Yoyo" and still make a great FD out of itNot sold on the slow part but ready to love the second half.
Ice dance is driving me insane LOL. Its probably scrolling through twitter and seeing the ISU, Jackie Wong, Inside Skating, International Skating Magazine etc accounts all endlessly tripping over themselves praising level base and level 1 Tangos, oblivious to the problems every team is having with the RD which is making it worse.
But I think this is proof of how much musical choices affect programme reception; I would say G/F’s choreo is as good as anyone’s this year, but because people are so invested in complaining about La La Land, it doesn’t get nearly enough recognition, while the music in G/P’s case does half the work for them.
No offence to their fans but I will never be team Katsalapov or Sinitsina. But all the best to them in their future endeavours.
