Ice Dance . . . The final frontier.

This is the thread for all things ice dance.

It's continuing mission: to provide a place for fans of all ice dance teams to discuss their favorite heart-stopping moments, tear-inducing mistakes, WTF decisions, costume malfunctions, and whatever else The Next Generation throws at us.

To boldly go where no fans have gone before.

And we need Data to tell us who is Number One.

Grr. I blame whatever commenter it was that was griping about how "she" was better than "him." She has grown a lot as a skater and has a more mature look, but he is a wonderful performer with a lot of life and exuberance to him. Many teams don't have the versatility these two had as a team.

Will the Korean Fed let them go after the mandatory season off? It's probably too soon to know if either of them is planning to switch Feds.

If Paul Ayer gets yet another girl that is more interesting than him out of this, I will be grouchy.

ETA: OK, I'm grouchy about it anyway so that wouldn't be a big change; but oh, the whole split is disappointing.

I’m wondering if the split has to do with Ye’s vision challenges.

He recently posted that he had corrective vision surgery and it sounded like he had been competing for awhile with double vision issues.

I imagine it will take some time for him to recuperate and maybe Hannah didn’t want to wait it out?

I’ve been armchair harping that she needs a better matched partner  It’s always a dangerous game though. Who is to say she’ll find another successful partnership? She’s too talented for this to be the premature end of the road. :drama:

But that doesn’t diminish the positive qualities the partnership and that it did result in some interesting and lovely dances created.

Ye’s errors have been really costly…it feels like his twizzles are regressing. Missing the free dance at the Olympics might have been the straw that broke the camel’s back in them having a productive partnership.
