Please also give us the breakdown on Kolyada's mess of a skate @Sylvia. Obviously, skaters without quads have no margin at all for error. It doesn't make it fair either.
I don't know whether Adam's lutz was underrotated. But, even if it was, that program was spectacular. It is ridiculous that Adam and Kolyada got nearly the same PCS score...
Adam's 2nd 3Lz was called < and cost him 3+ points (looked like he hesitated before the entry) and that was the difference between 2nd and 3rd. He skated/performed well, though.
...
They showed the replay video on the 3-lutz. There was a slight underrotation with the toe point of Adam's skate turning on landing to complete the rotation. It didn't really make the difference. The lack of Adam being fully rewarded on superior components for choreo and interpretation made the difference.
I'm all in for positive on Adam @Sylvia!![]()
Obviously!
Wow, I just screamed when Mirai hit the 3-axel! Now she has to keep it together for the rest of her skate!!! Yaaayyy!!! AdaRipp the first to jump up and yell for Mirai!
Yay for roommates - Mirai and Adam! They both hit their team LPs!
Only Mirai got the marks and placement that were justified and correct! Adam was robbed; and that's coming from someone who thought he ripped off a place on the team! Kolyada was meh and didn't even seem like he wanted to be out there, but even with error on quads, he wound up placing 2nd in front of Adam! Same with Chan who fell and had a hand down; wound up 1st! How do you beat a clean performance even with extra credit in GOE and the overall performance scores? This isn't ladies' skating where Caroline is being held up artificially!![]()

@Adaripp good luck and you have so many fans that are proud of you stateside as a person and an athlete. Include me in that group.
Yeah, Adam should have been in front of Kolyada, but regardless, he still did a great job. Carolina got 3rd behind Daleman and Mirai.

I'm delighted at all the praise and positive attention for Adam.Tweeted last week by James Blake, a now retired tennis player I admire as a person (forgot to post this earlier):

He should have been multiple points ahead of Kolyada in PC's.Congrats; he skated clean, but still behind Chan and Kolyada who had 1 deduction each!![]()

I was so happy for Adam he skated beautifully and his reaction to Mirai's skate was terrific. I hope he skates his very best again for the IE and forgets about where he ends up in the standings.
He'll need to pull out that Quad Lutz to make the podium! You see what "clean" does these days; still hung behind to skaters with errors!![]()

What would points on a UR get him compared to the 2A though?
If he can rotate it, I think he should go for it. But I also don't want him hurt again. Healthy is a good thing!
To all those who tweet at me saying that they “hope I fail”, I have failed many times many times in my life. But more importantly, I’ve learned from every setback, proudly own up to my mistakes, grown from disappointments, and now I’m a glamazon bitch ready for the runway.
My Twitter feed is half skating and half journalists, so it was v. amusing when worlds collided last night.
I wonder if Adam and team will think about putting the quad lutz (probably fall) back in after the scoring last night.
Mostly, though, I am over the moon.![]()
