Tessa Virtue & Scott Moir : Just For Us # 45

I suspect whoever took the videos had V/M's permission. Short snippets like these help create buzz without giving too much away. Win-win.

yet she took them down, although not before they were saved ;)

Yes, just like last year, parts of their program get "accidentally" posted and are only taken down after it's too late. Why does this always happen to them and no one else? Let's say I'm skeptical.

^I'm sure it's not a deliberate snub, but I wouldn't blame Virtue if she felt a little miffed about the choice, in an Olympic year with a team that doesn't even remotely have the skill set V and M did at that point they wanted to use it.

Can't believe with another world title under their belts and a season full of promising material coming up, some V/M fans are still litigating the perceived slights of 2014.

Like....for god's sake. V/M aren't using the music...and if they continue and decide to use Pride and Prejudice in the future, I doubt Whatever/Nobody's FD to Marina's fifth-priority choreography is going to dissuade them.

I don't think she sabotaged them, but I do think she was way more focused on Davis and White.
V and M were pretty clear they felt ignored.
I know everyone had their opinions on what happened, but I do believe she did give them a bit of the short shrift over Davis and White.
A lot of it had to do with losing Igor too though IMO.

That's funny because the choreography of both seemed to indicate that she didn't put much more attention on D/W's programs than V/M. It just seemed she was at a loss as to how to handle their tech issues. She even hired Maurizio Margaglio to help her for a bit after Sochi before hiring Massimo Scali. I do definitely think she would have paid them more attention had Igor been there and that she totally missed Tessa and Scott's feelings of frustrations and thus didn't handle it properly due to logistical constraints and being lost as to what to do for them.

Yeah, Marina losing Igor was huge for V and M.
Technically D and W had less issues.
I think the programme D and W had was better choreography.

Right? Schez was a choreographic bore - same as Seasons. The only difference was D/W had built up a lot of political momentum and were very consistent while V/M were making technical mistakes all season. Both Marina programs were hot garbage that year.

I thought Shez was good.
Hated Notre Dame.
I actually don't hate Marina as much as some as a choreographer, or at all in fact.
I liked her stuff for D and W and V and M quite a bit.
But she is a bit passé now.
I think Lane is really interesting and Dean can be amazing.
I still like MF and P too.

IIRC, Scott also wasn't a fan of the idea of using P&P.

I remember an interview from last year (I think) where Scott said that Tessa's instincts are always right and that there were times he disagreed with her, sided with the coaches, but in the end, he should've listened to her. So now he doesn't doubt her. That said, I don't care about what Marina is doing now and I highly doubt V/M have given this music choice a second thought. It seems they've more than moved on and are very happy with where they are.

I remember the interview I believe it was brought up during their fan meeting with Russian fans. And what Tessa said specifically was she brought P&P on the table when they were looking for music for Sochi and said nobody was feeling it except her. Scott agreed that he didn't feel it. I don't know, but I don't see why we need to rehash this that happened years ago, it has no bearing on what they're doing now.

Yes, she said it was her Olympic dream and motivation for comeback after surgery.
But yes, it was a long time ago.

N

Notre Dame compare to Carmen?
Talking about Olympic year not the year before.
Carmen was a masterpiece. IMO Notre Dame was the worst piece D and W ever skated to.

But yes let's focus on now.
If Scott wasn't feeling it too, i.e., using Pride and Predjudice music, then no harm done.
