The audio cuts out just after they finished their dance on the extended version but the commentary is the same as the video from the Olympic channel website https://www.olympicchannel.com/en/playback/tessa-virtue-scott-moir/

Their fans from Korea have always been loyal. I remember in Worlds 2013 a number of them took off their jackets to show their yellow VM shirts as did I! I still wear my shirt for SOI and Scott always hi fives me when he sees it.

Wish I could see this. Would love to see Lambiel skate live just once.

Enjoy and post pics!!

What do you do when there is nothing on TV and you miss Tessa and Scott? You watch a compilation of Tessa and Scott's 2004-2014 OD/SD's and FD's. I think I have a problem ;). I'm still in awe of their skating skills, musicality and versatility. If it were up to me they would never retire. :D

A very small part of me is still deludedly holding on to the tiny, minuscule, almost non-existent possibility that they won’t retire and come back again in a couple of years just for the challenge because they are better than they ever were. The quality of their skating was mind boggling in Pyeongchang. They could do so much more! I want to see them do Broadway ffs. A FS world without Scott’s edges just makes me sad.

It really bothers me that I have never been able to see their OD from 2006 Jr. Worlds. 2006 Nationals? Yup. 2006 4CCs? Yup. The end of their EX at 2006 Jr. Worlds where they performed part of the OD? Yup. It shouldn't be that hard to find.

A small part of me thinks that they are not 100% certain on retirement. Or, one of them isn't..... But, I do think that they have come very close to telling everyone that they are going to retire.... I would like to see them continue to get one more Olympic medal (any colour!)!

P&C's SD sealed it for me but after their FD marks I thought V&M were screwed.

V&M left no points on the table. No way for the judges to mark them down. They were on pointe in every move. I also think that skating last helped them.

I don't think they have anything left to prove to themselves so would be surprised if they stayed in.

I think they will come back for one more season after the next since worlds in 2020 are in Montreal and retire there. Just my take.

Yeah I don’t know where people are getting this idea they’re not done yet from. From interviews they’ve done since Pyeongchang it’s pretty much a foregone conclusion that this is it. I love them, but take your gold medals and sail off into the sunset lol.
Thanks, Shayii. But, as for the dress - is the the slit what you don't like about it? Actually, while the slit doesn't help, that can happen with almost any short dress in that kind of lift - slit or no slit.
The dress doesn’t offend me and neither does the slit. It was more a tongue in cheek comment.

While I do agree with everyone that they are better than ever in terms of their skating they really need to run far away with their gold medals. LOL They literally fought with everything they had to win these olympics when their direct competitors had a SD that really should have placed them in far below what they scored. This isn't a sport that is based solely on merits and talents alone...they could stay in and could be better than ever but they aren't going to get to the top of that podium again. So for my sanity and theirs...I'm ready for them to retire. I do say this with a heavy heart because next years pattern is the TR which I would give a arm and a leg for them to skate it again at this age with this connection.

I have followed their career since they debuted at Canadian Nationals. Watching them compete in Sochi and take a bitter lose; which we knew was the inevitable all year long, I got the sense that they weren't done. They needed to prove something; perhaps to Marina that they can leave her and win an Olympic Gold. They have been building to have their moment one last time in Peyonchange and at the end of their FD I got the sense that they were done. They are one of the greatest if not the greatest ice dancers of all time. They have been the heir apparent to the throne and now It is time for them to claim their title as the new King and Queen of Ice Dance.

I wish them nothing but the best as they pursue and conquer new challenges. I bow to them one last time. Thank you Tessa and Scott for everything. So long my friends.

What got me was their delivery of the MR, which I really hadn't cared for all season. I thought that 'Moonlight Sonata' was the more Olympic-worthy program in terms of how the judges would see it, and they had indicated that this was true.

Even though a small window of opportunity seemed to open for V/M after the free dance (I personally thought V/M should have been scored just a bit higher), I didn't think there was a chance for them to win the OG. Then, when the judges gave P/C such a huge monster score in the FD, I was assured there was no chance.

But then, they skated MR with total perfection, passion and conviction - a performance for the ages! They drew the audience members/viewers in and demanded they get invested in the characters and the story. And the judges, too. And it was enough for the narrow win!

Skating last in the penultimate position also helped them. I firmly believe that P/C would have the title had they skated last.

Fortunately, it worked out so that the best team won, IMO.

I don't think P/C are yet at V/M's level, not to taking anything away from them. They may be on they way to joining V/M as one of the greatest of all time - though it remains to be seen whether circumstances and desire will come together to give them similar longevity in their competitive career.
