I'll cut Aliev some slack on the hand holding for his first major senior medal. At least he didn't crawl in their laps. He'll get more sophisticated as time goes on. Now, if he's still doing it 5 years from now, we'll slap him upside the head and tell him to get a grip.

Oh poor Laurine... :yikes:

But yay for my girl Mae! :cheer:

TBH I couldn't have predicted she'd be the French skater with less awkward costume maneuvering tonight

So, if Sweden don't send a lady to the Olympics, doesn't the spot go to Armenia? Will Ms COTN suddenly start training again?

Also, Finnish ladiezz drama in coming: Viveca said Emmi better skate well at the Olympics because it was Viveca who earned the spot for Finland at Nebelhorn. "She's not allowed to pop any jumps." :cat:

Sweden will decide if any skater will go to OG during the weekend. The skaters will will be informed Monday, the info will go public on Tuesday. There's a "youth criteria", if the skater shows potential for the future, it might get send. Source: SVT

I can believe Laurine's dress started to fall apart long before the costume change:gallopin1
So MBM goes to Korea?

Finnish ladies...I don't know. I guess it's Emmi then?

Haven't watched everything, but yay Da Schott, top ten!

Anne Line did very well! I'm happy.

Carolina skating to Afternoon of Kermit? Imagine glueing rhinestones to that entire thing

Good lord, finnish drama, what has the world turned into? :drama:
@Hanna , we need some harmonic finn intervention here.

Schott: It's kind of hard to recall why she's on the Team. ;) She's been rather consistent lately. :shuffle:
Peltonen: Excellent basics, messy program. Classic #TTW material. :gallopin1
Lecavelier: (((((Laurine))))). Costume malfunction, bizarre off-ice incidents, coach (misses the SP, flies halfway around the world to watch this?), has the complete package and the messy programs. She must stay on the Team! :gallopin1

Lil Sis 1.0 & 2.0: Bros must be so proud! :)

Zagitova: No longer eligible for #TTW, but she can still emulate the greats -- Tuktamysheva, Lipnitskaya, and Radionova! :watch:

What a day. My nerves. I think I have to skip 4CC to rebounce for olympics! :D

Boss Ladies Euros FS recap:

First of all:
PAGANINI - EUROS TOP 7 WITH INTENTIONAL DOUBLE?! :mitchell: WTF! SHE SHOULD BE DELETED OF THE RESULT! :EVILLE:

Zagitova - I prefer her, I admit. I don't prefer a newbie winning OGM and vanishing the next seasons due to Galustyan-boobs though :shuffle:
Med - Hard loss for her, she took it quite well. Tut was obviously in her corner, judging her reactions. Do not like the new costume, and overall this was very rough for me. But we know, the injury...
Kostner - Scandalous bronze for me. Sorry.
Sotskova - Too solid to put any hopes in Tsurskayas mind.
MBM - I never thought she makes it. But hell, I enjoyed, I admit.
Peltonen - I don't get the high TES at all, but am very happy it's her and not boring Viveca, sorry.
Schott - My girl. What a fight!:encore: My nerves. I looked like Aliev after SP in knc during the entire ladies FS until Lil'Sis finally saved my day :P
Laurine - took it better today. Where the hell was her coach thursday? I can't understand what sense a coach has, who is not present at your most important event.
Lil'Sis CZE - thanks for saving my day.
Rizzochick - So much better than Russo. Sorry. Not fine with olympic selection here.
Östlund - Poor girl. Does she get a chance? Galustyan for olympics? What is going on?!?

Zag has better technique than Rad or Lip, but she might well go the Tuk route. Which would be sad, but she's 15 and she is going to grow up. Grab yourself as many medals as you can while you can little TutuDiva.

I've never been a big fan of Kori Ade, but major props to her for flying in to support her student under the circumstances. I'm hoping next season will be better for Lecavelier.

Very very short ID FD Euros Boss recap, as I am done for today:

Bob - :glamor: That's my Bob! Awesome skate. I just wish Zhulin would have given you Hopkins' Waltz for Olympics and not his shitty BLR couple.
S/B - Bukin's reactions are to die for!
C/L - sad euros-goodbye. hate the new dress.
Z/G - Finally that FD skates to its limited potential :P
C/B - so overscored.
H/K - :respec: Monko in audience! Love it.
FB/S - underscored.

Major props? Why has she not bee here from the beginning? It's the decider competition of her student to go to olympics or not. What was more important?

I suspect she's been working with Jason for 4CC and trying to get a visa for Russia. Tanith said they'd had visa issues

Finnish drama, oh dear! And there is the Swedish drama to come.... Now with the Russians settled, there's not many question marks left is there? Who's next in line after COTN, if Sweden chacks Anita?

Also my friend in Moscow wrote me a report from Euros, she went to all of men practices, and says Stephane is a bit of a diva, but also extremely professional. He chooses a spot a bit away from the other coaches and always use all the practice time. Deniss warms up very solid, with a lot of different movements for different muscles, then steps, then a program, then a jump. His head for competition seems good, the practice before the SP was bad, no axel, but we know what happened after. Her other favorites is Dima, Rizzo, Naurits (of course, she's my long time friend:respec:) and she writes to me: "Norwegian boy is awesome, everybody loves him" :D:D

@SmallFairy How was your own competition?

It was good! It was nerve wrecking and the five minute warm up felt like 30 seconds. Wonder what it's like for those pros:p It was a scratchy skate, but I did all my elements and they all counted, even the loop (it got a -2 across the boards, so I'm still on the Freakin Liashenko watch list @rfisher ). It was also great fun, as the four of us competing are training friends and cheered like crazy for each other. I was the only one doing bronze level, so now I'm regional champion:40beers:

Thanks to the competition I still haven't seen all of the ladies or any dance. Went home to supporting friends later for post-comp-taco, and last two group of ladies, but couldn't focus on all of them. Must watch Loena again. Anita bombed. Darn:(:( I actually enjoyed Zagitova for the first time. My friends loved her. They said "she's not boring, there's something going on all the time". When Med skated, they thought she was dull;) Sotskova was robbed. Caro did a Lepistö. And I loved Laura to death.

Congrats to the new reigning regional champion!:encore:

Anita bombed. Darn:(:( (...) Caro did a Lepistö. And I loved Laura to death.
BTW, Laura was the commentator for the Finnish TV. When Anita imploded, Laura was super sympathetic and told the story about her very first GP where she unexpectedly won the short program over the likes of Mao Asada... and then dropped to 7th overall after the free skate.
She was like "Yep, believe me, I've been there." :gallopin1

@SmallFairy , congratulations :kickass:

My short Euros recap:
Really nice event even considering the fact that it’s a pre-Olys event and some teams (Aliona ) decided to skip it. Was also interesting to compare my own impressions from RusNats and Euros
Pairs:
I’d have had James/Ciprès in third but can’t say that Z/E didn’t earn that bronze medal either..
Loved M/H actually, they were really performing, and it was a pleasure to watch them. It was obvious that they had a great time and enjoyed themselves :)
Men:
Aliev slayed! As all of you, I also didn’t expect that he could skate cleanly and held on the podium. After Deniss’s skate I was sure that he will take the bronze :D and than Dima came and slayed (almost :p)! Well, again, when he landed all his jumps I was thinking that he would definetely fecked up the spin or steps or whatever , but he didn’t :gallopin1
Javi.. well in comparison with other he did really great but his PCS are way toooo high. He has worse SS than Aliev, Kolyada and Vasiljevs  He’s a great performer but his basics are the other story
Deniss was great, loved his performance in the free :grope: Lambiel :swoon:
Jorik was boring , sorry :shuffle:
Michal’s performance in the free is a one more definition of a train wreck :gallopin1 But I just love him..
Ice Dance:
H/K’s SD and the Danes FD were my highlites if the event, seriously. I mean all the top teams are on another level but I just miss something in theirs skating (heartbreak?).
The Poles and Coomes/B were seriously overscored.. And I still don’t get how we all agreed to take C/B on our train:wall:
Anyway, I surprisingly liked S/B in the Short  and Bobs free dance is one of my fave dances this season :encore:
PapCiz are great but they didn’t grab my attention here like they did in Helsinki
Ladies: Loena was fab, but it’s 2018 , you need 3-3 if you want to get at least some medals :drama: In terms of musicality she was clearly second to me (after Med).
Caro was terribly overscored, sorry. I love her, but I want to forget that LP and her costume asap..
I have nothing against Alina and in the beginning of the season I was rooting for her to win but after that I saw her live two times and was completely shocked with her lack of SS. The difference between her and Med (and I’m not event talking about Caro) is just . Her free was still very impressive and i agree with the final placement.
Med is the other story.. I didn’t expect that I’d root for her that much here as I’ve never been her fan. But she has improved tremendously, especially in PCS. And major kudos to her for that skate in the free! I even can’t imagine what kind of nerves you have to have in order to skate that good after an injury, in front of the home audience and right after your main rival gave that kind of performance :kickass:
