Survivor: Game Changers (Season 34)

Too bad for Zeke, but probably the right move. Although I was kinda hoping they woulda got Tai only because I love it when people get voted out when they are holding Idols, and him holding two woulda been priceless. :P

So is this right as of now:

Tai -- 2 Idols
Troyzan -- 1 Idol
Sarah -- Extra Vote
Sierra -- Legacy Advantage (which I have forgotten what this means .... can anyone fill me in?) :shuffle:

Are there still any Idols left hidden out at camp at this point?

Prancer - I think you are correct. Wish Tai had played one of his idols.

Andrea - I do like her. But I think the way she talked about Zeke coming after her in trying to sway folks was not the best move. Better to talk generally or how Zeke is a threat to whoever she is speaking to, not herself. She got something done, but the way it was done may hurt her in the future.
Cirie - I just love her! her social game is awesome. She reads people so well. I would love her to win.k
Michaela - I really like her - I think we are seeing who she is - very genuine person. Her tears seemed odd, but I think were genuine. And we finally see her do well in a challenge.
I do think they should have voted out one of the 4 - Sierra or Culpepper, and got Zeke next time.
Zeke - sorry you are gone, you are so many levels of awesomeness - but again you got too much and put a target on yourself. But knowing Jeff P - he will be back.
Sierra - nice to see her groveling.
Aubry - I really liked her in her first season - it is either the edit or she is not doing much - I expected more.
Tai & Troyzan - Have 2 players with idols gone so long and not blabbed about them before?
Officer Sara - I really want to love her game, but am only liking. She seems smart, but something is off, not sure what it is.
I think she will regret telling Cirie about the advantage.
The episode was overall ok, but things happened that will be important in the future.

Officer Sara - I really want to love her game, but am only liking. She seems smart, but something is off, not sure what it is.

I generally like Sarah too, but I think my one problem with her game is that she seems a little gullible for me. For instance in the episode where Varner left and he was trying to stir shit up, he goes and tells Sarah and Andrea about a secret alliance between Ozzy and Zeke and Sarah instantly believes Varner, without thinking that maybe Varner has a reason for trying to telling them this and might not be completely above board. Similarly, in the episode where Debbie was voted out, when Aubry tells Sarah that Debbie is trying to make alternate deals and Sarah again seems to instantly believe it. We didn't actually see Debbie doing that either, so I'm not sure if it's true or if Aubry just made it up, but either way, I'd like to see a little more healthy skepticism from Sarah.

That said, I still think her game is still better than just about everyone else left in the game at this point except for Cirie. And Cirie has the same problem she always has, which is that her game is TOO good, which means that no one wants to let her get to the end and let her get a chance to present it to the jury.

Andrea - I do like her. But I think the way she talked about Zeke coming after her in trying to sway folks was not the best move. Better to talk generally or how Zeke is a threat to whoever she is speaking to, not herself. She got something done, but the way it was done may hurt her in the future.

I've always liked Andrea, but the whole Andrea/Zeke feud thing has seemed a bit over the top to me, but this super interesting interview with Zeke sheds a lot more light on it:
http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/li...-outed-as-transgender-voted-interview-1000082

Basically, he and Andrea were friends outside the game before Survivor, and he was disappointed/hurt that after the Varner outing that she didn't take time away from the game to check in on him, make sure he was ok, etc. It also maybe explains why she took his game betrayal so personally as well.

:scream: :scream: :scream:

LOL
Forget voting her out - should be automatic eviction.

Erin - thanks for the link to the article. Got to love Zeke - he is so observant and understands human nature.
I am sad to read that he felt isolated after the big TC - it would have been nice for some of the others to check in on him like he said. I am so glad he got to spend the day with his dad once at ponderosa - well deserved!
Interesting dynamics with Andrea / Cirie. My opinion of Jeff P has gone up - sounds like he was truly there for Zeke.
He described Ozzy really well. So much what Zeke shared really helps me understand the dynamics with everyone so much more than any other things I have read over the years. Zeke not only gets it, but can articulate it for us.

Back to Andrea - and her social circle - I can not remember which Big Brother player - maybe Meg? - but when they showed that BB player's intro at the beginnng of the season, from NY, was at a bar with friends - one of them was Andrea.
I guess if you want to get on one of these shows, befriend Andrea - she must be buddies with casting.

Ha! I read the article yesterday so I already forgot about the Debbie pooping thing already. I guess I wanted to forget about it :scream:

That said, props to Debbie and Sarah for being the two who actually did support Zeke after the crazy tribal council. I'm disappointed to hear there wasn't more.

I wish they'd allow more columns/blogs from the players to give us insights into what we don't see on tv. I remember years ago a player was doing it, without spoilers, after every show and they shut her down after only a few episodes. I remember her description of challenges was quite interesting.

Other that Zeke, most of the post interviews over the years offer little insight.

While I really liked Zeke both seasons he played, I'm kind of glad he's gone now. He DOES have a compelling story, and he has been a good player; but I want to see a fight to the end of a BUNCH of good players, with different big moves every week, because that's what an all-star type season should be about. I never got all the Andrea appreciation, but I kind of do now; I still appreciate Cirie more. Still have no idea what about Sierra is supposed to be "game changing", but whatever. Troyzan annoyed me his first season, but I'm liking him this time around; I liked Tai more his first season than this one. And Culpepper is growing on me. Aubrey seems wasted this season, maybe she's better when she's struggling for survival every week, and this time she's complacent.

Sarah is once again making all the big moves. Just amazing. In this episode alone, she almost single-handedly assured Sierra's departure by planting the seed in Michaela's head that Sierra had an immunity idol in the form of a legacy advantage AND somehow managed to get Sierra to give it to her out of all people, even after she voted her off. On top of that, Michaela would never suspect Sarah to be the one to inherit it. Now she has two advantages with only eight players left. I'm ready for her to completely flip the game two more times.

Tai is managing to still sneak by with his two immunity idols. He's still looking good for the finals and if I had to guess based on editing, Cirie is going to be around towards the end, also.

Boy did Sierra make a big mistake telling Sarah about the advantage.
If she had not told her, I wonder if Sarah could have swayed Michaela then?
One thing said and game blows up.
Sarah voted for Sierra but looked so surprised at the vote - I assume it was for Sierra's benefit - to get the advantage - well done. But did Andrea see the look on Sarah's face?
Wonder if Michaela will mention the advantage to Tai or to?

Sierra's eyebrows are tattoos? So odd. The buff on her head does hide them a little.

ITA - Tai is in a good position. Cirie better be there!!!

Michaela at the challenge - losing - showed her immaturity. But then so bright strategizing and at the TC?
Cirie - no surprise there that she is a great mom! But they did not show her much in the strategizing for this TC.
Aubry - is still there.
I would not rule out either Culpepper or Troyzan.
Andrea has a big target on her.

Oh, I forgot - I think Cirie's son should play in the future.
And that is her youngest - maybe one of the older ones can date Michaela!

The "Loved Ones" episode always bores me. I just don't get how they are all so emotionally devastated that they get to see their 'loved one' they haven't seen for a whole 30 days, and end up rolling my eyes at the whole thing. Big deal. I'd go months without seeing my 'family' and we all lived/live within 15 minutes of each other. :blah: But then again, I'm a cold-hearted, emotionless, bytch who has no idea, comprehension, or understanding of what it means to be part of a caring, loving, supportive family unit of people who actually give a damn about each other. But that's another thread. :P

I'm still kinda hoping that Tai will be blindsided holding those 2 Idols at some point, but I think he might be safe long enough to hold on to them before becoming, uhm ... not safe.

I'm still trying to figure out which one Sierra was. She made no impression on me to even remember her during the game.

Please don't ever let me come across Michaela in a dark alley. I would be afraid she would kill me. I wonder if she is that intense in real life because damn ... that girl is scary. I don't think she will win, but it would be interesting to hear her speech if she should make it to Final 3, but I don't think she will.

I think it is more the relief that here is someone you don't have to be paranoid around. 30 days of being only with people you are not sure you can trust has got to be wearing on a person.

I love that Sarah's mindset was "I have to make sure that Sierra IS voted out so that I get that advantage"! Girl is ruthless, and not in a temper tantrum Mikayla kind of way. Although I like Mikayla as well. I wish Andrea had been ousted, not that I'll miss Sierra, but because I think it would have been a bigger play.

Soooo....we have Sarah with 2 advantages, Troyzan with and idol and Tai with two idols, with 8 folks left? Fab!

And even the people you trust are trying to get you out of the game.....just maybe not yet. But you know that you are somewhere on their mental list of People Who Stand in the Way.

Plus you have to watch every single thing you say or do 24 hours a day, day in and day out, because all it takes is one little slip with the wrong person. And you have to get along with everyone 24 hours a day in close quarters when you are tired and hungry and stressed out. It's like being at work under the worst conditions and never being allowed to go home.

I'm not an emotional person, but I would be champing at the bit to see family. You could finally breathe for a minute or two.

Guess I'm a cold-hearted ............ too. I flipped over to All In with Chris Hayes till that part was over. All of the reality shows where people haven't seen their loved ones in a couple days and they get so emotional is like they've been sent to prison for life and get a visitor's pass and will not see them when the show is over. If you are that dependent on these people you shouldn't be going to live on an island in the first place where you only have a tiny chance to win. Do they act like that if these relatives go on a two week vacation or live in another state full time? I guess it's because being on the shows is so hard to do?

Sarah is getting the winner's edit IMO !

This. I will be very surprised if Sarah does not win this thing.

Michaela is one of the most hilarious philosophers this game has had: "It's a great thing when the decision's in your hands, as long as you make the right one. Because if you make the wrong one, you end up on the jury looking stupid."     I love her, despite most of the contestants apparently not.

Is it just me, or is there too many advantages to keep track of? There's 3 (4?) idols out there, an extra vote, and the legacy advantage. Shit's going to go down soon when all of these get played as they expire. Speaking of the legacy advantage, Sierra was completely stupid to tell Sarah that she'd have to will it to someone in the event that she's voted out. That did nothing except paint her target bigger. They didn't show Sarah telling Michaela that the advantage is passed from person to person until it's ready to use, so that was strategic of Sarah to get Michaela on her side for the vote.

 So two Tribal Councils tonight in a one hour show.

I was shocked when they started the episode with an Immunity challenge. Then again, this season started pretty late, and with 20 people they needed to dwindle the numbers in order to end the season on time. However, usually they'll do this double-tribal stuff when the game's getting a bit predictable and one side has clear control (I'm thinking Caramoan, where they did this two weeks in a row, IIRC)

Once again, both those votes seemed a little random to me. Andrea was spinning her wheels and wouldn't have been a big threat to win, and Michaela would have been an excellent goat (though I like her better than the other contestants seem to). For somewhat of an All Stars season, the gameplay is a bit questionable.

honestly, sarah probably wanted to stir some controversy this week so that everyone (or a select few) can target her next week and then she HAS to use the immunity advantage at 6, screwing someone else over. Also, I think Tai can only use his idols up until there are 4 left so he would have to use them either both together (one for him, one for someone else) or in the next two immunities for himself.

 I just don't know what to say about this episode.

ITA. I understand how Andrea is gone.
But the second vote - WTF!!! And Tai did not play an idol???
with 6 people left, Tai has 2 idols, Troyzan 1 idol and Sarah 1 advantage.
Way too many things for this close to the end.
There are several deserving to win, but part of me is whatever.

Really? Sarah is way out in front of everyone for me. Cirie has ideas but I feel like most people listen to her because she's been in the game so many times more than her actually being a strategic player. Tai is along for the ride as he did last time but at least he's (not yet) throwing Idols out for friends. Although the previews for next week make me think he's turning back to his old self. Aubrey is clueless as usual after nearly every vote, and we barely see Troyzan or Brad. They could make a push to the end but I think Sarah still has more tricks up her sleeve.

I agree for the most part. I think the final will be Sarah and two goats of her choice. Of the other remaining players, I would try to get rid of Brad because he could make a case that he dominated for part of the game and then succeeded in hanging on by sheer resourcefulness and competitive grit in the end. No one else has any kind of counterargument to Sarah at this point.

I think that Cirie has been strategic this season but she jas also made some truly weird voting choices. Like when she voted for Sierra a few weeks back when no one else did (I think the week that Ozzy was voted out) and this week with the Aubry vote. So she is still good but not at the top of her game.

I also have no idea what happened at tribal council. I'm not sure why Sarah stole Tai's vote only to vote for Michaela. And why on earth Tai didn't play one of his idols after his vote was stolen, I also don't understand. Obviously it was the right decision since he wasn't voted out but how the hell he knew that, I'll never know.

And yes, Sarah totally deserves to win if she makes it to the final. I don't understand how anyone is letting her get to the final - obviously we know that she gets through the next round by being immune, but past that, people are silly for doing so. She is playing the best game in my opinion even if I think she kind of wasted the advantage (but she kind of had to after Cirie outed it).
