Mitchell and Johansson
Mitchell was 5th and 4th at Worlds. Have any of his students matched that success yet?

How about Tamara Moskvina? She was a successful pairs skater but obviously her record as a pairs coach is maybe unmatched.
^^^ couldnt remember what they had won (or done) internationally, thats why I prefaced perhaps
I mean now shes coaching a 2 time world Champion and Oly silver champion in Medev. And a 2 time Oly Champion, multi world champion in Hanyu... so thats why brought her up... whatever she won as a skater id say she doing much better as a coach with Orser.
They won bronze medals at the 1988 Olympics and 88 worlds. I think they had also won a world silver prior to that. They had a very successful pro career as well.
Tracy Wilson and Rob McCall won three World Bronze, which was no small feat considering the Soviets could have swept every year.
I think Tracy's greatest achievement was sticking by Rob until he eventually died of Aids.
Medvedeva’s world championships and Olympic silver were earned under the tutelage of Eteri Tuberitze. Why should Tracy Wilson get credit for it? Hanyu’s success was primarily due to Orser. I don’t see Tracy as a great coach, but she had a great ice dance career with Rob McCall. They won bronze medals at the 1988 Olympics and 88 worlds. I think they had also won a world silver prior to that. They had a very successful pro career as well.
I was watching in the 80s and can't remember much of anything she did.
Tracey is the one responsible for developing strong skating skills in the Cricket Club skaters. She works on the stroking, power, edges, etc with them. Without her, their actual 'skating' wouldn't be where it is.Hanyu’s success was primarily due to Orser. I don’t see Tracy as a great coach, but she had a great ice dance career with Rob McCall.
Point taken.
(although I did mention twice that "perhaps" not 100% for certainty.)
In her first year Tracy co-coached Medev into making the Russian team and becoming Worlds bronze medalist in less than a year, so I stick to my position on this.
I still say she will be remembered more for Orser's team as a coach than her 80s moments.
I was watching in the 80s and can't remember much of anything she did. I do though think her moments going to Russia with Medev and being in K&Cs with Yuzuru and coaching current and future TCC students sets her coaching apart from her amateur days.
You should watch their performances instead of focusing on only the past one year of her coaching. She got a student who was already very accomplished. I don’t give her credit for Zhenya’s success.
Of course if you are just 15-20 years old, you may not appreciate skaters from the 80s.
Misha Ge? Or is that too soon to tell?
Edit- just thought of C. Maurizi too.
I hardly register Tracy Wilson as a coach.
Damnnnn! I wonder what her response to you would be for that.
I think Tracy working as a coach at TCC flourishes her resume. She's coaching a whole arsenal of the worlds most elite. So strange thoughts out there in the skating universe.
Well, you are biased because you are Canadian but are you saying that Dubreuil/Lauzon school was successful before Haguenauer went there? Not really. You should just admit the truth.Huh? He’s a part of their coaching team, but he’s not wholly responsible for their success. Considering their teams do well on PCS which link to choreography which Marie France does a lot of, in collaboration with others, and their teams also do well technically which I believe Patrice is the main technical coach.
I’m not saying Romain isn’t a part of it but he’s not a puppet master and they are not merely his puppets.
