Skate Canada 2024 Rhythm Dance PBP - Thank You for the Moose-Ick

For your viewing enjoyment between events, aforementioned fire alarm program:

And I mistakenly confused the usually bumbling Button when it was actually Carruthers who thought it was part of the program

Chock and Bate had better get a new RD....
Nah, they just need to reduce the number of music edits. Conceptually, it's a good program and they have some nice parts, but the music edits were excessive. GilPoir didn't even beat GuigFab's Lombardia RD score here and this is their home GP where they always score their highest.

Loved Laj & Lag program shame about the fall but glad not in an element. Fun choreo for Piper and Paul and very polished but I’m actually not a fan of the program at all.

And don’t @ me but I’ve never heard Rasputin.
FSU clued me into it many years ago, so I was familiar. Apparently it was a #1 hit in the US. I suspect it wasn't in rotation on the Philly stations.

Of the numerous tricks the ice dance committee missed, the fact that dance teams, like all skaters, are likely to feel pretty damn tense before a programme, and therefore really not look at all "Wheeeee, party!" is a pretty big one. A bit like trying to appeal to the young instantly marks you out as old, trying to look carefree and loose when you're not highlights the deer-in-headlights vibes.

The only Boney M recording to make the Top 100 in the US was Rivers of Babylon. They just were not a thing in the US.

(I got out my reference on Top 40 hits for this  )

I use it in my world history class--the kids go WILD when it comes up on the powerpoint.

Let's remember though what's truly important here--MY TEAM is in FORTH. Do they deserve to be there? ABSOLUTELY NOT. But I am gleefully and unapologetically sacrificing more deserving lower-ranked teams? ABSOLUTELY.

I keep getting them mixed up with Boney James, who featured very prominently on my former carpool driver's favorite smooth jazz station.
