Really, part deux

Hello again, skatefriends! Lee just now went into surgery... we have the doctor we want, the procedure he has chosen makes sense to us, and we have faith. Please spend a moment to think about her over the next few hours; we feel your support and care.

I will be back to let you know how it all went after she returns to me... probably in a few hours.

Thanks for the shoulders to lean on. Some says, we need them more than others.

Gerry

will stay close to this thread in the next few hours and will focus on situation where shunt is no longer needed and Lee feeling better without it. Take good care & nap if you can..(seeing as no one will hand you a scapel to help out.) I know it is frustating to only wait and wait.

Hi everybody. Gerry again, with an update.

Lee is out of surgery, but there were complications with anesthesia, and she has been transferred to Neurosurgical ICU, still intubated and unconscious.

Her shunt has been completely removed; their plan is to leave her intubated until they can be sure she doesn’t need another one. If so, another surgery. If not, they will have the specialists extubate her and we get back to the business of recovery.

But for now, she remains in intensive care. Thanks for your thoughts and prayers... she isn’t out of the woods yet.

***another update.. she was awake for s few moments... responsive, cognitive, alert. The team in neuro was happy, then re-sedated her to sleep.

This was supposed to be easy...

Thank-you for the update. It seems to me that Lee before has taken time to wake up after a procedure. So glad she came around and doctors are happy.PLs let us know how she is doing later on.

I wish you both strength and healing. Thinking of Lee and sending healing vibes.
I'm in Sedona this week and remembering a lovely chat Lee and I had about visiting here. Here's hoping you and she can one day travel and again enjoy the spectacular red rocks and tranquillity of this beautiful place.

We're at 50 pages and almost 1500 posts in the *second* thread about Lee and her faithful Gerry. And on it goes. I wish you both continued superhuman strength and love and care and support... and years and years of peace after Lee gets home at last. May that day come soon.
