@nimi Me too, please ! P/C, Danes and a live impression of S/B too...

You were so lucky to be there !
P/C: As expected, their seamlessness, flow & fluidity esp. in FD don't fully come across on camera even when the camera work is pretty good (like it was in Finlandia this year, thankfully). So yeah, if you're a fan and you have a realistic chance to go see the FD live without bankrupting your budget, I highly recommend doing that.
I'm not a fan of the SD music, esp. the slowed down section of
Shape of You, but P/C were just so much fun to watch and they actually looked like they were
dancing and
having fun (esp. Gabi) so even the somewhat questionable music edit didn't really bother me that much! I haven't watched the SD yet on youtube but it's probably more camera-friendly than the FD.
BTW: IMO P/C's twizzles covered more ice than it seems in the youtube vid. (Happens with camera angles.) The twizzles were, like, really
impressive live, in addition to being smooth & beautiful.
The Danes' SP is one of my faves this season. Also they & their skating is just so
nice to watch and easy on the eyes... So yeah, for me their SD was one of the highlights in the whole event! The FD wasn't quite as strong and the almost-botched lift was a bit scary but then again, there were many frightening/shaky/botched lifts in this FD event in general...
S/B's FD music rubbed me the wrong way and it was kinda difficult for me to appreciate the program (to put it nicely). Their SD wasn't particularly memorable for me. Though I still like them more live than I do on TV.
Of the lower ranked teams, Fear/Gibson (9th place) were a positive surprise for me. They're not particularly exciting or anything and I've never really
noticed them when I've seen them before but they skated well here, which is something you really appreciate when you've sat through several teams visibly struggling i some of their elements and being kinda scratchy overall...
I'm rooting for Hurtado/Khaliavin
soooo haaaard but I wasn't particularly surprised when Sara struggled with twizzles (again) and they ended up with pretty low TES in SD (I mean, twizzles & the rumba pattern both level 1... Ouch...). Still, no falls or botched lifts, which was a relief, honestly. Their Don Quixote FD was stronger (Sara doing her fiery Spanish thing is always worth watching!) & I was happy to see them rising to 6th overall and getting some ranking points and I guess it was a pretty good season start for them, considering.
BTW: Watching the last FD warm-up group was pretty scary at times, esp. when P/C were running through their straight line stsq. They just have so much speed and they cover the whole ice pretty fast and then there are the 4 other top teams on the ice skating around in high speed, doing their thing... Gabi shouted the warning several few times and there were some close calls and near-collisions and audience gasps...
