If anyone would like to help Oona & Gage and contribute to the Brown family's skating fund: https://www.gofundme.com/f/oona-and-gages-skating-fund
Some interesting facts about us are: we come from a family of seven children, ages 12-23. We are homeschooled. We started skating as a homeschool class once a week when Oona was 4 and Gage was 6. We started competing together as an ice dance team at ages 10 (Oona) and 12 (Gage).

Hi all, we recently filmed with our friend Jordan (On Ice Perspectives) at Bryant park in NYC. It is always a blast filming with him!
Here is a link to our full Free Dance program!
Cheers

Copying over some of today's posts from the U.S. Dance thread in GSD:
Wow. Wow. Wow. I just saw this.

Look at their faces! Look at her dazzling smile and his grin! Look at their stretch, their lines, and their matching commitment and passion for the dance. I just fell in love, yet again, with another US Ice Dance Team.
Oona and Gage’s video has already logged over half a million views — I guess it must have gotten shared somewhere highly visible?
oona and Gage's video was posted on my FB by a friend of mine who knows absolutely nothing about skating but thought it was cool.
This program is just WOW!
The Browns are my current favorite Jr team. Glad so many people are noticing them!
Yep, it was messaged to me by a FB friend too. How nice for them to have a video go viral! :)
I fell for them last season but this FD is a quantum leap forward. 2026 has a new contender.

Okay, I'll be the first official reply for this cheer thread. I liked Oona and Gage last year, but this season's FD has just propelled them forward artistically. I'm a bigger fan now and I hope they have the opportunity to compete for the junior crown at the upcoming Nationals. They're terrific.

The skating is great, but the videography is out-of-this-world fabulous. Wouldn't you love to see some other routines captured this way?

This video has nearly 3 million views. Wow. Lots of comments in Russian.

It was suggested to me by YouTube, so I guess lots of other skating fans may be finding it that way.

IDC article by Anne Calder (March 30):
Excerpts:
The large block of training time after the National Championships usually allotted to prepare for Junior Worlds was diverted to other projects this year.
“We have used this time to expand our skating skills; the time also allows us to be extra prepared for our upcoming season,” Oona explained. “We have been spending a lot of time improvising both on and off the ice. This helps our choreography process as well as our creativity and flow.”
“We are putting a lot of effort into our choreography process; the extra time definitely helps since we have two programs to create instead of last year’s one,” noted Gage. “We’ve also been touching up our technical skills as well as developing new elements and transitions to hopefully improve on our component mark.”
“Our goals for the upcoming season are to win the title at the 2022 Nationals, as well as to make the podium for all of our JGP assignments. To achieve these goals, I will be working on every detail, both separately and with Gage,” Oona declared.
“We plan on achieving our goals with lots of hard work, training and perfecting the little details. We are also hoping to expand our repertoire of lifts and elements for the coming season,” added Gage.
The Brown siblings have another positive going for them as they aim to accomplish more feats on the ice.
They come from a very musical family. Gage has played the electric bass for about nine years. He sings and plays in a band he started with his two older brothers. He also plays the bagpipes and has participated in several Irish marching bands with Oona, who is a snare drummer.

Posted on July 3rd in the U.S. Dance news thread:
The Browns' joint Instagram (thebrownsofficial_) is doing a Q&A in their stories right now and have replied that their program music is "How Ya Like Me Now" (RD) and Muse (FD) - also to be debuted in Dallas next week.
Thanks to @TanithandBenFan and her sister for the Browns' FD music info and finding fan cam clips from their season debut at Dallas Cannon Classic (re-posting here from the U.S. Club Competitions thread in Kiss & Cry):

Yesterday (April 18) On Ice Perspectives' Jordan Cowan uploaded the video he had filmed of the Brown's ""How Ya Like Me Now" Rhythm Dance "on a chilly morning" in NYC's Bryant Park in November 2021: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0eZM5u1nTRs

Cowan also had filmed them performing their Muse FD "just before sunrise" at the same outdoor rink during Thanksgiving weekend 2021 (uploaded to his OIP YT channel on Dec. 18, 2021): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yRz1siEAVxk

It was nice to get a little sense of Coach Inese's personality when the Browns and she graciously chatted at their rink with an amateur interviewer who is not savvy about figure skating, but has some awareness of Oona and Gage.

Along with the Browns themselves, Coach Inese showed good humor and was relaxed about cooperating with the interviewer's goofy style.
A champion in Latvia for many years, Inese now has been in the U.S. for thirty years.

Inese joins the 15-minute video at approx. 7:20.
The edited package was published on Dec 6, after the footage was recorded on Sep 3.
Joel Dear does not appear in the video, but I assume that it was just happenstance that he was not around that day.

The interview was loosely tied to a charity event.
It's the second time that the Browns have spoken to the interviewer.

Exciting that the Browns have joined IAM, with Coach Joel and Coach Inese as part of the collaboration.

Coach Joel's Instastory added hearts ❤️❤️❤️ and party emojis 🎉🎉🎉 galore when reposting today's news.

If anyone is thinking of making a donation to Oona and Gage's costs, their website has a NEASF (tax-deductible) form for them as well as the link to their GoFundMe (not tax-deductible).

Unrelated to IAM, one of the other Brown siblings recently wrote a long article about Oona and Gage for a college news site.
An excerpt that I especially like:

"Besides travelling, Oona and Gage have learned many practical skills throughout and as a consequence of their skating career. A small list can be summarized as follows:
  • Financial responsibility: budgeting for trips (lodging, food, transportation, leisure), and accounting for yearly expenditures and income
  • General coordination and planning: managing and updating their website, social media; booking and scheduling trips, including accommodations
  • Communication skills: public speaking through interviews, interacting (virtually and otherwise) with supporters, including fans and donors; writing newsletters and updates
  • Coping with stress and pressure: namely, through competing and performing
  • Ritual and discipline: consistent training and exercise, conscious diets, good sleep, and largely self-motivated education
... Arguably, the duo has gotten an education from their sport, outside of bookwork, and perhaps an education with more applicability to their lives."

(Mar 19)

Also unrelated to IAM, I loved everyone's warm smiles in this not-new but cute video from Christmas Day 2022:

ETA:

Forgot to say that the Browns will skate in Ice Theatre of New York's home season performances again this year.
At Chelsea Piers on May 5, 6, 8.
