Tree Lighting Skate-tacular returns on Tuesday, December 4 with host Alan Cumming and performances by Olympic skaters Johnny Weir, Kaetlyn Osmond, Megan Duhamel and Eric Radford, and Jeremy Abbott.
An annual New York City Christmas tradition, Tree Lighting Skate-tacular is led by a celebrity narrator who reads an original Christmas tale. As the story unfolds, the characters are brought to life by world-class skaters performing on the ice, under the stars in the Midtown cityscape. Excitement builds until the finale: the Tree is lit, surrounded by fireworks.
Following the ceremony, all visitors are welcome to skate to live music on the city’s only free admission ice skating rink. Tree Lighting Skate-tacular is presented by Bank of America.

I visited Bryant Park when I was in NYC earlier this fall and its SO beautiful there. I would love to see the tree lighting and skating show sometime down the line. I can imagine all the lights around the park and see where the rink would be and it all just sounds beautiful!

I was there last night and can report it was quite the turnout! Many spectators seemed to be caught off guard by the festivities but certainly stayed for the entire show. I unfortunately arrived later than I'd planned and didn't have a good view of the ice but could at least watch on the large screen they put up this year.

Bit late here but I was there (Bryant Park lighting) as well. I missed out on Osmond at Boston Worlds and wanted a chance to see (and photograph) her live. Crowded, but ok. Show was basically same format as last year. Thankfully had a better spot this time though!
