Neko Atsume kitty collector -- any other addicts?

I've also been trying to get the new ones again via the Tower of Treats with no luck. But then again, I also had the parasol out most of the weekend and it didn't help. :lol:

Also Xerxes has visited 32 times now with no memento....
 
I've been playing for a week, and I guess my family and colleagues are already tired of my constant "awww, look at this kitty with a plastic bag on its head" and "oh no, Tubbs just won't go away!" :D I try to save up and buy an expansion... still about 40 gold fish to go. I decided not to look up the particular goodies that attract rare cats. I buy goodies randomly and wait for rare cats to come as a surprise. Probably that is why only Ramses has visited so far. Apart from Tubbs, of course:cat:
 
I am pretty sure there is a barrier with the food. When one side is empty I get no cats there.

I have yet to have Rascal and Ganache to show. Apricot has visited several times.
 
I wish there was a way to double-load the food bowls. The better foods only last 3 hours, and I hate knowing that they'll be empty for a chunk of time at night.

Rascal was the hardest one for me to get! He comes for a bunch of toys (the cat trees, the ChooChoo, the green cushion) but it was the fancy fancy food that did the trick.

I've true the Parasol with the Tuna and the Bonito Bitz but no new rare cats so far.
 
If the app was available for Windows phones I'd be playing two versions too. So I don't know if it's a good thing or a bad thing that it isn't.
 
Hmmm... you're tempting me to start on my iPad. Maybe there could be life after getting all the mementos?

Spoonpets has been entertaining since I have no clue what I'm doing or which toys attract the rares. I don't like it as much, though, because the hamsters look too similar and they're obviously not as cute as cats.
 
Harumph. I have deluxe tuna and the parasol out, and no cats at all, never mind the rare ones! (*sulks*)
 
Ugh, keep missing Apricot!

Finally had a visit from Sapphire and Jeeves, but only got a picture of Jeeves. Sapphire only left me 1 fish :drama: Jeeves left 87. I guess Sapphire leaves the tipping to her servents!
 
Sapphire and Jeeves have not deigned to visit me yet even though I've been tempting them with fancy foods and the parasol. :(

Peaches stopped by today. (She last visited on 3/21.) She was hanging out in the stump house and I had to click on her face to confirm. :cheer:
 
I sooo want to read this thread, but even more than that I want to collect the rare cats without any more clues than I gathered accidentally when I first started this.
 
I finally got a picture of Ganache. I kept missing him until today. I haven't tried for Sapphire & Jeeves yet. I still need the mementos from Chairman Meow and Conductor Whiskers before I can switch out my big toys.
 
Sapphire and Jeeves decided to finally visit during the men's Sp and obviously I missed them.
 
I never keep out the goodies for Sapphire and Jeeves unless I know I can check periodically.. I've still only seen them once
 
You can add "giant cushion" to the list of small toys that hold more than 1 cat. Tabitha and Patches were snuggled up together on it within 10 minutes of me buying it.

I bought the zanzibar cushion yesterday. Xerxes has visited twice - both when I wasn't around to check & get a picture.
 
^ Don't worry, I'm sure it won't be the last time -- he comes for me pretty much every single time I have the Zanzibar out.
 
I have to shut my game down and restart it before they bring me mementos. No idea why.
 
Anyone else having a problem sending the password today? I keep getting a "password verification failed" error message. First time that's happened.
 
I've not been able to enter the password today either.

PL, I've found the mementos seem to go in fits and starts. I'll go for several days where I'll not get any at all, and then I'll go for a day or two where every time I open the app I get one.
 
It's been a good night for new kitties on my game... Ganache gave me a memento, and I finally got to see Sapphire and Jeeves for a 2nd time- and this time, it was on the Tower of Treats!
 
Hooray, Bob finally left his memento! No more big ugly metropolis!

Still no sign of Sapphire & Jeeves, but now that I can switch back and forth between the tower & the parasol I might get lucky. And I just splurged on a 3-pack of deluxe tuna for them.
 
For people who are trying to attract Sapphire and Jeeves, I've gotten them with Bonito Bitz two or three times now, on the Tower of Treats and under the Fairy-Tale Parasol.
