Neko Atsume kitty collector -- any other addicts?

I'm wondering if they (Sapphire and Jeeves) come more often in the sugary style. I love the zen garden one so much that I don't know if I want to get other styles, but if they'll come more often? Hmmm....

Peaches gave me her memento in the middle of the night. :inavoid:

Switching to the sugary style helped me receive my first visit from Sapphire and Jeeves (after having tried both the original and zen yards), but everyone's experience of the game is different and that's part of why it's so much fun to compare. :)
 
It definitely takes time to get all the common cats to show up. It frequently depends on what food you have out too although that is more important for the rare kitties. Sapphire and Jeeves do appear to be a bit fussier. Although the guide says they'll come for every food except thrifty bits with the parasol or every food except thrifty and frisky bits with the Tower of Treats I know several people on here, including myself, have only got them with Deluxe Tuna Bits.

Xerxes gave me his memento today. And I finally got a picture of St. Purrrtrick. He's visited a couple of times, but I always seemed to miss him.
Guy Furry visited too, but I missed him too. :(
I still have several rares that haven't even visited once, nevermind getting their mementos.
 
I think changing to sugary style was just a coincidence re: Jeeves & Sapphire. The style is supposed to be purely aesthetic. At least that's what I've read on a few boards -- and what I'm choosing to believe. Because the sugary style (what I've seen of it) is not my thing at all.

However the tower of treats and parasol definitely are needed to attract them, and they at least "fit" in the sugary style better than in my zen yard!
 
I have the sugary style in one game; zen in the other. I don't think sugary helps at all in getting Sapphire & Jeeves to visit.
I'm going broke trying to get their mementos! I read on Reddit that some people got them after only 4 visits or so. Not the case for one of my games - they've been here at least 12 times!
 
My experience with Sapphire and Jeeves:

Zen style: 15 days of having the tower of treats or the parasol or both out continuously and alternating food between bonito and tuna = 0 visits

Sugary style: First visit two hours after switching, daily visits since and Sapphire memento received after 4 visits

Every cat has now visited at least once and photos are in album. I also have received all regular cat mementos. Peaches was the last and she gifted me yesterday. :cheer:
 
15 cats at once! A new record for me! (I think.)

And yet there's room for at least 3 more ...

(And as I type this I can hear one of the neighbourhood cats meowing outside. Maybe s/he'd like to snuggle up on the giant cushion with Lexy?)
 
I was finally visited by Lady Meow Meow yesterday - I've had her stuff out quite a number of times, but no luck until yesterday. Got a picture too.
Finally got a second visit from Guy Furry today and managed a picture (missed him last time).
 
I got Peaches memento today so now the only regular cat I need is Apricot. I've only had Sapphire and Jeeves three times but I can't keep putting deluxe tuna out so I'll just have to hope they'll show up for me with another food.
 
Sapphire and Jeeves have shown up for me several times with Bonito Bitz in the bowl rather than Deluxe Tuna. I haven't managed to get their mementos yet, though!

Ever since I put the new red throne out in my candy yard, Xerxes IX comes and sits on the throne, ruling sternly, at least twice a day... but he hasn't given me his memento yet. :P
 
Rey cats are being stingy with the gold fish. Like, I can't keep buying you guys sashimi if you don't toss me some shiny fish, you know?

Meanwhile, as proof that this game is totally random:

Sugary Style game: Tower of Treats, tons of $$$ on gold fish on deluxe tuna, only 4 visit from Sapphire and Jeeves

Zen style game: Parasol, again tons of $$$ on the deluxe tuna, 11 visits. Same amount of time as the other one.

And no mementos yet in either game :lol:

I did finally get Saint Purrtrick's after 30 visits! :cheer:
 
I intended to buy the rustic remodel yesterday, but accidentally touched the wrong part of my screen and ended up with the modern instead. Oh well, have redecorated to it for now. I have pretty much had the zanzibar cushion out constantly for at least the last week. Xerxes and a lot of other cats seem to be quite generous with the fish when they use it - mostly 20+ fish. I keep the temari ball out a lot as well - that seems to get generous fish gifts also.
I got Saint Purrtrick's memento yesterday on his 8th visit.
Conductor Whiskers on the other hand, refuses to show up. The first day I put out the train, he came twice. Ever since, nada. I've put out the train several times, and have tried every kind of food there is, and not a single visit has he made.

Apparently, Conductor Whiskers is actually a she. People seem to believe this because a) she's a calico, and almost all calico cats are female (I think male calicoes are like, 1 in every 3000) and b) she's apparently based on some real-life cat who used to hang around in a Japanese train station.

I've been planning to try out the modern, just for a change. But can someone remind me, since it's been a while: if you remodel, does it automatically reset all your goodies? Or to put it another way, if you remodel while you have kitties in your yard, will they all disappear?
 
Here's my photo of Tubbs on the cushion. On another forum (Reddit) someone suggested the next update should have some big cats like Maine coon or Norwegian forest that could take over the big cushion like Tubbs. :)

A converted version of the game is available on Amazon for the Kindle Fire and the photo is from my 2nd game.

In my experience, your goodies and your cats will reset when you remodel to a new style. If it's a style you've used previously, the goodies that were out the last time you used it will be out, but all the kitties will gone.

I got Frosty's memento today after only 4 visits!!! :cheer:

I was shocked when I saw where he was this morning and quickly captured the moment. :eek:

The yard is set to the zen style and the cushion is inside in the far right back corner so not really near the food. I'm pretty sure I had out the frisky bitz. I had just remodeled and don't have many gold fishies to buy fancy food.
 
Good to know, thanks! I usually have the giant cushion inside too, so will keep an eye out.

Meanwhile I just got the memento from Conductor Whiskers -- after 6 visits. Yay! I'll probably keep the choochoo out, though, because it's just so darned cute (as is Conductor Whiskers!).

BTW, for those having trouble getting her to come, she only came once when I had the choochoo outside, but came a few times in quick succession when I moved it inside.

Tubbs is hilarious :D Now I'm thinking of buying the giant cushion. It looks quite ugly when it's unoccupied, but I've seen pictures of two kitties on it together, and they were very sweet. And now Tubbs - I need this cushion right away!
BTW, did he eat everything as usual, or just took a nap on the cushion?
 
The giant cushion is great! It only takes one space and fits two regular cats or one huge Tubbs. I love it when the cats color coordinate -- Snowball/Smokey and Spots/Speckles are few of the combos I've had.

For once, Tubbs didn't eat anything and only napped. I don't remember exactly how many fish he left but it was his usual generous amount.
