Nebelhorn Trophy 2024 - Ice Dance RD & FD

So good!!!!

Thank heaven they went with '50s. That program is awesome and just perfect for them. Christina looked like she was having the time of her life. Anthony ... well, I think Anthony enjoyed the last twenty seconds or so when all the hard stuff was done. :lol:

Good but beatable score from C/P, but likely good enough among US teams
 
Outstanding!!!!!!!! Bandit tried to interrupt me and she was firmly reminded that there are some skaters & teams that she is not allowed to bother me during!

Christina's dress is silvery-white and navy on top - I'm not sure how to describe it properly - like two side-by-side concentric ovals that are cut off at the waistband and look like a sweetheart neckline, and navy halter strap neckline, waistband is white/silver and the skirt is navy blue. Anthony is in navy blue pants, baby pink shirt and then navy blue ombreing to silver panels on either side of the front buttons. Very classy look. Oh, and she has lace navy gloves.
 
P&P another of the teams I like. This was nice but not really keen on the music cuts and choices and the way program is put together
 
That score for CarPon is criminally low. Eff you, judges.

Pinchuk/Pogorielov - so, no shiny metallic fabric for them - basic black pants and dress shirt with rolled up sleeves for him; basic red sleeveless dress with a deep v on the front and an open back. The program is okay enough, but I fear that Team Zanni only heard of one decade when coming up with RD options for their teams.

I reject this. It's "ice dance judging has stagnated once again and you only are allowed to graduate to higher scores when someone ahead of you in the pecking order effs up really badly or retires."

except that you'd think usfs would really be pushing for them to be getting higher scores because if anything happens to bock then what???

although I guess I should edit this to add that I looked up their scores last year and they got a 65 on the rd at nebelhorn lolll (I know they had an element invalidated) so I guess this is better

USFS doesn't push jack until the skater/team has clearly separated itself from the rest of the pack. Look what we dealt with for YEARS with the ShibSibs, HubDon and ChoBat. I fear we're in for another Oly cycle of that sh*t post-2026 unless CarPon can really separate themselves this season.

well now that I'm reviewing the score trajectory last season i might be changing my mind slightly but I'd still like to see it higher lol
 
I actually really love these music choices and they both look hot so ice dance wins again

no i'm not looking at the actual skating
 
Val/Kazimov - black leather pants for him, with a very sparkly black dress shirt that has some sort of feathers or whickety-whack all over it; she is in black leather pants with some cutouts/burnouts on the side and lower part of her legs, her top is one of those diamond-shaped bikini tops. It's disco for them. Nice speed - really cool stationary lift. They are improving and coming along nicely. They'll clearly be Spain's top team post-Milano, presuming SmaDie are in it for only one Olympic cycle.

They started out much more in unison with stronger skating, but it's getting a bit sloppier and weaker as the program goes on. Something to build on.
 
SmaDie - so, burgundy crop top with long, bell sleeves for her and v-neck, patterned bellbottoms in orange, burgundy, mustard/gold & pink swirls; Tim is in a brown suede or leather vest with a white tank top and darker brown pants. They are looking sooooo much improved with matching their line and stroking! Same lift from their RD last season. I wasn't actually paying attention during their twizzles - someone tell me they both hit them, please!
