Amber - another solid 3a! Really gorgeous dress that's mostly royal purple with some airbrushing of lighter shades in the violet family - illusion neckline though the wrists/cuffs ombre into the royal purple; heavy stoning/crystals that are silver and some deep teal, I think. Some minor jump issues - a pop/double and a two-foot landing, but she's not melting down and is putting together a pretty solid FS so far. She's relaxing and smiling as she goes through her step sequence, knowing she's laid down a program that's going to be hard to beat. And, actually, I think it's a really pretty program - I don't mind this softer, lyrical music - it's got some power behind it that works well with her skating.

Why ridiculous Sarah beat Elyce by a whooping 2.43 points at Cranberry. By giving out GP's to multiple skaters that is how you get depth which is something the US has lacked for years. It's not like they gave Skate America to Starr.

I like that Everhardt is relatively stone-faced, so that she might avoid being forced into the ice princess mold. I think she’ll grow into being more expressive, and I hope it will feel authentic to her, not applied.

Agree, her costumes this year are beautiful. Saturated purple (royal blue) against her pale skin - lovely. K&C not posted yet but happy to see this win. I was wondering if the many 1/2 competitions (good short/tough long or the other way) had worn her down. Some skater just take a long time to get all the pieces to fit.

I'm assuming the 3F+2T was supposed to be 3F+3T? Was the second 3F supposed to be 3F+1eu+3S? There's no 3S anywhere else.

I presume she's moving off of her previously successful 3F+3T and 2A+3T+2T (both in the second half) strategy in order to repeat higher value triples. Two lutzes is risky for her, though her blatant flutz very rarely gets called.

If she wanted to upgrade, I'd have thought something like:

Fantastic interpretation from Gubanova. Interesting, unique costume, too. Technique looked a little undertrained—some telegraphing of jumps. If she can get that sorted, this could be an exquisite program.
