Congratulations to KanaDai for becoming JAPAN NATIONAL CHAMPIONS!!!
It was Dai's 17th National Championship and he wrote history once again by being the only top athlete to win (5) Nationals in both singles and (1) in ice dance!

There was a little incident at the very end but aside of that it was really beautiful and certainly the best POTO of the season!

I really like this team, but they were fortunate that this happened at Nationals. It seemed like Daisuke's stamina is a bit lacking which he needs to work on. The fall on the lift cost them almost 4 points! It could be the difference between finishing top 10 at Worlds easily.

Another season together with Dai has been truly magical, and I am so grateful for the support everyone has given me. Sadly today #KanaDai have announced their retirement. They will do an InstaLive tomorrow at 8 PM Japan time, (13:00 CET, 07:00 EST, 04:00 PST) on their Instagram account @kanadai_team_official

We knew this may have come but... still it brings a little sadness. We thank them for all the magical moments they have given us.

Well, KanaDai may have retired but they sure haven't stopped since!

After doing ICE EXPLOSION Fukuoka and PIW Saga, they first worked on a new choreography from Kaitlyn Weaver, then they appeared on a few TV shows promoting THE ICE 2023.

After that, Dai was spotted in Detroit, where he was seen working with Pasquale Camerlengo, supposedly on a new solo number for THE ICE /FOI.
KanaDai then travelled back to Florida where they trained for several days at the Hertz Arena with Marina Zoueva. They posted clips of them practicing their previous RD's, Soran Bushi and The Mask, probably to alternate at the upcoming THE ICE 2023 shows.

After Florida they flew to California, where they have been spotted at Great Park Ice, and finally, today they posted on their official Instagram account that they have been working on a new program with Shae-Lynn Bourne.

I watched both shows on Saturday. KanaDai's Birds/Makeba was unique, creative, physically demanding and fantastic! They took full advantage of being fee from IJS.
