We've only seen one picture and it wasn't even a great one. They rarely talk about their kids, which is weird as any parent would be proud and excited to share.

:rolleyes: Famous people aren't "most people" and even regular people are very cautious about sharing anything about their minor children on social media. It's considered an invasion of privacy for people who are too young to give consent.

I've never heard racial slurs against the kids, where's the proof? I'm just saying parents don't have to share pictures all the time, but they usually enjoy talking about their kids and we never hear that from them.

I'm sorry but this is BS. Celebrities, for the most part, are extremely careful about what they share about their kids. Many of them don't talk about them on talk shows, don't post a lot of pictures of them, and, when they do, often don't show their faces.

There are stars who I have no idea if they even have kids, what their names are let alone what they look like. Tom Hanks doesn't talk about his kids when he's out pimping a new movie. I didn't even know he had kids until his son was grown and started getting in the news himself. That is normal. People like Kim Kardashian who constantly puts her kids forward are not.

What? Many celebs never show pix of their younger kids. Giannis of the Bucks always photoshops large shades on the photos of his kids that he does share. The celebs who show pix of their kids usually show the older kids who can make their own decisions. It's the mommy vloggers who constantly show their kids.

Great example: Jlo has 198 million followers on IG, but I actually have little idea what her kids look like.

And as for racial slurs, Archie was called a chimp:

I think they've said about as much as other celebrity parents do.

My German friends also don't post pictures of their children on social media and don't share them via easily hackable apps like Whatsapp.

If I google "George Clooney twins" I get one picture where I can see their faces (sort of, they're wearing winter hats) from various angles and two different ones with the twins from behind.
There are only two or three pictures of Julia Roberts with her kids, likewise of Dirk Nowitzki and his kids and they're also much older.

Usually, it's the celebrities who love the attention they get from the papparazzi who put their kids on social media all the time but Meghan and Harry are not that kind.

I was once a huge Harry fan and I still have interest so I do read posts. This isn’t specifically a cheer thread so I didn’t think that was an issue. As I said, I’m not a huge fan these days, but I hope they are happy or can find a way to be. (Clearly none of us really know if they are or not.) If that is hateful, ok.

According to the article linked below, the divorce rate for first marriages is 40 - 50%. For second marriages, the divorce rates jumps up to 67% (see #17). This is MM's second marriage. And it's not like Harry had a shining example of marital strength from his parents, aunt and one uncle. To be honest, divorce rates can be argued in many different ways. I believe it's mentioned in the article that several states report their data in a way that makes their numbers unable to counted, including California. In this day and age, many people choose not to marry and simply live together. So when those relationships end, there is no divorce to count but still the emotional anguish for all involved. On the other hand, same sex marriages are now legal so there are same sex divorces that are now counted.

Harry attending the Super Bowl with his cousin is not a sign the marriage is in trouble (in my opinion). And who knows why we haven't heard much from them lately. Frankly I'm a bit relieved because I was a bit H&M over saturated there for a while. Maybe they decided after a holiday break to buckle down and get some projects moving. H&M are not my favorite people but I'm not cheering for their divorce. I actually think it would be great to see them make it, despite all the naysayers, especially since there are children now. Like I said before, time will tell.

We'll just have to agree to disagree about the diapers; and that's okay :40beers:

It's pretty well established that Harry strongly believes his family requires security while in the UK and there was a lot of back-and-forth between the royal family, the police and British government about the issue. I'm guessing they were told no extra security would be provided. None of us know the level of threats H&M receive and, in the case of security, it is H&M's perception of their safety that matters - not what we think.

That isn't first marriages. That's all marriages. So they contradict themselves with #17. They need a better editor.

If you look at several sources, you see that consistently it is reported that 41% of first marriages end in divorce. 50% is the average of all divorces, first and subsequent. They did get the second and third marriage stats right, or close enough. I had read 75% before but it looks like that's just for third marriages (well 73%, but as I said, close enough).

Anyway, statistics aren't predictive to individuals. I know a lot of people who rushed into marriage while younger because they thought their time was running out or something else that clouded their judgment, and then did a much better job picking their second spouse and have been married for decades. Maybe that will be the case for Meghan.
 
@Mugs, this is my 2nd marriage & also DH's 2nd. We've been married over 36 years. And we rushed into marriage. We met in April, married in July. So that should tell you that statistics say nothing about the individual. Also are you still maintaining MM doesn't do diapers? Based on what?
 
I'm not blaming anyone here, but it doesn't matter how young you were when you get married. It's about the connection. I have a friend who got engaged within a month (barely out of high school) and they're still happily married 25 years later. Meghan strikes me as someone who doesn't see Harry as a partner, but someone who can open doors for her. That's why I'm always questioning her. There's something off about the whole relationship.

This is Harry's first marriage, Meghan's second. I was fine using the blended stats because of the difference in their marital/divorce status prior to their current marriage. Again, I hope there isn't a divorce in their future. I think a divorce would be devastating for Harry, as it was for his mother. Many times children see the mistakes in their parents' marriages and vow not to repeat those mistakes. That's a heavy burden to put on any marriage, but especially one in the public spotlight.
 
I am still amazed, not in a good way, that random people who have not interacted with people in real life can know with great certainty that Meghan doesn't change diapers, married only to open doors and is poor marriage material.

If you all are so all knowing all seeing all correct - could you give me the winning lottery numbers?

Following the statistics on marriage success, one of my brothers should have never find a stable long time relationship. He's been married four times. His current marriage just celebrated 25 years, plus 4 years pre-arrange.

Another brother's second marriage is celebrating 30 years this month. My sister's second marriage is celebrating 11 years in July.

Admit it - those who think Meghan is not long term wife material or a hands on moms- it's not that you are clairvoyant, it's that you have a hatred for her.

ETA: or can determine how happy someone is by tabloid pictures. Really give me the lottery numbers

It was a reasonably decent article written by attorneys about divorce statistics. It was not meant to be a personal reflection on any individual or any marriage of FSU members or anyone else for that matter. Kudos to you and your husband for getting it right the second time around and making it last.

RE: Diaper changing - that's just my impression.

The title of this thread is "Just call me Harry (Everything Harry & Meghan)". To me, everything means everything: the good, the bad, the ugly. If you want a discussion thread where H&M do no wrong, then create a thread for them where no one is allowed to criticize them, their work or their intentions. It's interesting that there seems to be two camps; those who demonize H&M and those who deify H&M. And neither side is willing to listen to the opinions of the other without getting bent out of shape, name calling and a bit of bullying. H&M are imperfect, flawed humans, just like the rest of us. They do good things and they make mistakes. And because I'm not part of either the demonize or deify camps, I see all sides of H&M. And like it or not, I am willing to discuss the good and the mistakes (i.e. "everything").
 
It's possible to see flaws in someone, but still want to point out that unless you have personal daily interactions that making assumptions of how Mommy someone is or how affectionate someone is or how happy someone is, your assumptions are not fact based.

I'm not high profiled person, I'm not tabloid material but I have experienced people making assumptions about mommy skills, relationships, happiness by people who do not know me.

Pointing out the possibility of assumptions based on really nothing, doesn't make one a M/H deity lover.

Yes most celebrities protect their kids. I’d do the same.
