Litchfield Park is a part of the Phoenix metro area. They have a wild life zoo that I have not yet visited, but always thought of visiting.

Today a woman tried to take a selfie with a jaguar. When she couldn't get the right angle, she climbed a barrier to take a selfie with the jaguar. The animal attacked her arm, leaving a gash there. On lookers pulled the woman down. She was taken to a hospital. Her injuries are not life threatening. She later apologized to the zoo. The zoo management said the animal was not at fault. There is a reason we have barriers. I agree with them. It was stupid of the woman to try to get past the protective barrier.

How can people be so stupid? Why this obsession with selfies? I am glad that her injuries were not serious. I hope others learn from this incident.

I mean, how stupid can you get?

This is a wild (or domesticated wild) animal!

Even a fully domesticated dog can become dangerous if you enter her/his territory.

I don't quite understand the obsession with selfies, but a selfie with a wild animal is a different thing altogether.

Glad the woman apologized and the jaguar is not being held responsible. That would have been all sorts of wrong.

The woman is extremely lucky that she got of this alive.

Idiot! The head line should read: "Stupid Woman climbs Jaguar enclosure for a selfie" Geesh.

So glad the jaguar is ok and will not be held accountable!!

This thing with selfies...........gee whiz the jaguar did exactly what jaguars do when faced with a situation like this. At least she apologized to the zoo.
