Visconti Icon Helmut Berger Dies: ‘The Damned’ and ‘Ludwig’ Actor Was 78

RIP
I loved Helmut Berger for his :nopryde: and :rockstar: behavior on German tv. The poor hosts never knew what they were gonna get because he'd tell all sorts of crazy things and sometimes admit being on drugs or drunk. He was so fun in a world of pc and uninteresting celebrities.

There is no doubt he was one of the greatest on the field and actively involved in Civil Rights off of the field. His anger issues and domestic violence accusations definitely make him controversial. Sometimes I like it when someone puts it to “the man.” Retiring from football at 30 after threats by Art Modell to fine him (I disliked Modell) was sweet. Appearing as the first black man to make love to a white woman (Raquel!) really upset some folks. Good for you Jim. But most of all I think he wanted to help young black men avoid the pitfalls that come with gangs. RIP

In my building for many years there was an old man named Fred who would sit in the lobby with dog treats. He would greet everyone with a smile and our fur children with a treat. I was unfortunately informed today that Fred has pasted away. Hope it is okay to put this here. I will miss him dearly. Rest in peace Fred.

Lost that lovin' feeling...
"Beautiful" is opening here later this month and a dear friend of mine will be playing Carole King. I have opening night tickets and this news of Ms. Weil's passing will certainly make seeing the show more poignant. Her songs were such a big part of the soundtrack of my childhood.

Pat Robertson died. It’s not nice but I’m not sad.

But he’s in heaven now and will live with God for eternity, and you can’t get there until you die here, which means he has achieved his goal and good for him, so that’s something to be happy about.

I lived in Virginia Beach from 2005-2013. I have spent most of my life around Evangelical Christian culture - the wonderful, the good, the bad, and the ugly.

All I have to say about this is I’ve decided that today would be a great day to take a fast from Twitter. ? ?

I grew up an hour away from this grifter. Whatever karma awaits him is what he earned.
Me, too! Everyone in my community watched the show. Luckily we had a ban on TV at our house before 6pm news time, or we would have been subjected to the morning stuff.

I remember Robertson being revered at my grandma's house. Thank goodness his grift has left this earthly plain.

My grandma never liked Robertson (her beliefs were pretty much “Charismatic Catholic”), but as tolerant as she was, she refused to associate with anyone that was still a Pat Robertson fan after the Charles Taylor stuff. And then there was the crazy stuff he said about Ariel Sharon and Israel.

I’m gonna be straight up mean and celebrate. He caused so much irreparable harm to so many communities so shamelessly and without remorse. He’s no Christian.
