Gymnastics #24 - The Road to Paris

Not exactly on topic, but there's commercial. Do we know who the head coaches will be at WCC when the Landis leave? Just curious.

Oooohhhh! Tiana REALLY needs to work on those handstands on bars. 😬
I kept waiting for the commentators to say something but nah I will just make my own. I love her beam and floor but bars definitely need work.

i never needed to hear mike tirico say the words "daddy gang" ever pls someone invent a time machine so i can go back

It breaks my heart that Simone thought the world hated her after Tokyo. I was never mad at her (who the heck would ever be mad at her?!) but my heart hurt SO much for her after what happened over there and I cried when she got that bronze on the beam there because I could tell how much it meant to her. :(

Rivera did compete at jr worlds last year, medalled on floor but got a zero on vault (didn't land feet first). She's also competed at team events in Jesolo and DTB. It's not like she has no experience.

The internet was FULL of assholes calling her a quitter

It was horrible...she was a stronger person than I. The comments that people made, people calling her a quitter, that twisties were made up.....just vicious trolls. I'm so glad that she's come back for herself, not for us fans or the haters.

Right! She’s never competed in a Pan Ams, Worlds, or Olympics. Her mental fortitude under pressure at a major international has never been tested and she does still look like a junior competitor.
Which is why I think the committee will go with Leanne, assuming she hits tonight. At least she has been on a WC team.

And speaking of Leanne, great floor routine!

I think it's between Hezly and Tiana. They both have pretty decent beam average scores. Tiana has the edge on floor - which could be a factor - she's scoring higher than Jordan on FX.

Also - this does not negate me wanting Leanne to make the team, just that I have competing interests for that 5th slot, lol.
Agree, just depends on whether the weakness is bars, beam or floor, beam.
