Gymnastics #24 - The Road to Paris

Well I take back what I said earlier. Rivera looks like she fits the bill for the fifth spot and I think it's hers now. I happily admit when I'm wrong.

I think it's between Hezly and Tiana. They both have pretty decent beam average scores. Tiana has the edge on floor - which could be a factor - she's scoring higher than Jordan on FX.

Also - this does not negate me wanting Leanne to make the team, just that I have competing interests for that 5th slot, lol.

She beat Simone on bars today. I agree it’s looking good for her.

Hezly's talent is obvious but she still needs a bit more confidence to sell me on giving her that fifth slot.
Right! She’s never competed in a Pan Ams, Worlds, or Olympics. Her mental fortitude under pressure at a major international has never been tested and she does still look like a junior competitor.

That is one rough score on bars for Tiana - putting her on the team would mean Jade goes up on bars in the prelims - which is fine, but still...

Sorry but I can’t get behind an unproven in international competition newly minted senior with their first major test at the Olympics. Recipe for disaster. I’m still scarred over Canada doing that with Ava Stewart in the last Olympics and how horrific that turned out.
