You said you weren't sure where he was skating, but assuming the backdrop is real then he's skating on Lake Ontario just off shore from downtown Toronto.

They were for me and I've never visited Toronto! I didn't realize Lake Ontario was frozen that far from the shore though.

It's been a very cold for the past few weeks, so I'm sure the lake is quite frozen now particularly in that area between downtown Toronto & Centre Island.

In all seriousness, everyone in Boston won't shut up about lake skating. Everything froze and literally I went to a lake to skate and saw like three other people from my club there.
