One of my favourite childhood skating memories is watching Brian Orser skate on Lake Louise !!

As a kid, I thought, "Where is this? It's incredible."
As an adult, I think, "How did they pull this off?" How did they get the overhead camera shots, keep the ice surface flat, deal with unobstructed snowy winds on such a large surface, etc.

Glad it's still on Youtube. It's too bad I can't find the whole special. Also sad CBC doesn't make these types of specials anymore.

The ice looks really smooth compared to the ice around him. I wonder if he did something to smooth it or if that is just how it was. I've always enjoyed his videos.
