I share your shock. I trained on the same ice as her quite a few times, and was always impressed by seeing her train up close. I took particularly careful note of her twist technique. Skaters like her are very rare in Australia.

Yes, and she seems to have been looking for something to do - tried to coach, tried to find a job in television, but she failed. So she is said to have often said she was a complete failure just before her death.
