Jason answered questions at Skate Canada from his Japanese fan club and the answers are posted on youtube: :cheer2:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G1Kw...ature=youtu.be

The questions and answers (in Japanese) have also been tweeted by the Jason Brown Fan Page:

There was a mistake with Jason's original pants and the Skate Canada blues are a short term solution according to Brad Griffies on instagram:

When I saw his score, my assumption was that nerves got to him. I had a whole post planned about how difficult it must be for someone as determined as Jason to have these quad frustrations. But after seeing him skate, I'm leaning towards injury. He didn't even attempt a quad.

That said, his jumps have not looked as good this fall as they did last fall, especially the Axel, and with less margin for error on his jumps, nerves can wreak havoc.

He still has a decent chance at the GPF, but obviously, if he's injured, he'd be far better off healing.

Jason was invited to perform in the Gala at NHK and he skated his "Waving Through a Window" (from the Dear Evan Hansen OST) program: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WUBV0cpG3M8
He performed well and included 3F & 3Lz.

ETA:

Sharing @Tavi's post about Jason at NHK Trophy from the U.S. Men's thread here:
In this article he says he says he’s not sure what happened in the FS; he’s usually “comfortable” and “solid” on the ice, but felt “jittery” here. It sounds like they took the 4T out at the last minute, after he struggled with it (and other elements) in the warmup.

Really too bad for him, but thankfully, it doesn’t sound like injury; hopefully he’ll figure out what went wrong and bounce back quickly. I guess only time will tell how much this impacts his chances of making the Olympic team.

I just watched it. He did not exhibit signs of any injury. All elements secure. Unless we hear something concrete to the contrary, all systems go.

What a good interview—at least as far as I can tell! :p Thanks for sharing!
I'm guessing the pictures are about what they'd like to do after their competitive careers?

Brown set to put own story on display in Nagoya
U.S. skater to showcase performance quality in Grand Prix Final debut

http://web.icenetwork.com/news/2017/12/06/262971260

"All season long, Jason Brown has been a storyteller in search of a story.

Unlike many skaters this Olympic season, Brown and choreographer Rohene Ward took a high-risk route with his routines, setting his short program to "The Room Where It Happens" from the rap musical Hamilton and free skate to "Inner Love," music specially composed for him by Maxime Rodriguez. That choice, he thinks, will pay off -- in time.

"It's been a challenge I love, but at the same time, 100-percent, it's been very difficult," Brown said, shortly before boarding a plane for Nagoya, Japan, where he will compete at this week's Grand Prix Final for the first time."

He really sold that program with a ton of skills and personality! I appreciate what he said in the interview about finding the inner love for himself and what he does on the ice despite the criticism. That is the foundation of real confidence.

I think Nathan and Jason for Olys and Worlds. 90% Adam and Ill give the 10% patience for those rooting for Max.

It's great to see other companies outside of the formal, official sponsors, reach out to athletes and capitalize on the upcoming Olympics as an opportunity for 'seasonal' visibility. I believe there are restrictions on the use of terms like "Olympic" with the sponsorships but it is clear from who e.g., Wintrust is naming, that it is to support the spirit of the Games.

What's next for Jason after 4CC?
A move to Raf, Tom Z, Frank, Krall, or Orser?
If there is going to be a coaching change...this is it.
