Do judges marks get questioned from ISU officials?

Ive wondered for a while...

When you see GOE with a wide range (example James & Cipres SP twist at Euros). Most judges saw it as +3 or +4.. and then one judge goes -2. Will an official step in and question that judge why did you see it as a -2 when no one else did? Because how do you explain to public who is learning the system.. that it was a near perfect twist, but oh yeah it was also a bad one at the same time?

All skaters have had an element with a very wide range of GOE, so Ive wondered if the judge who is way different than the others ever has to demonstrate why they assign a very different score?

Ive seems some elements this season that went from -4 to +4 for the same element.

After the event, the referee will hold a roundtable discussion with the judges. Elements with wide variations in GOE would be likely topics of discussion, for the judges who were high or low to explain their reasons for those marks.

Also, there is an Officials Assessment Commission that reviews all the judges' scores for major international events (and also the judges' behavior at the biggest events where commission members are present at the venue) and flags any judges who show excessive deviation from the "corridor" of acceptable marks.
