I think she might one day get back to doing Stars on Ice or other shows

That's what I would particularly enjoy -- seeing grace perform in Stars on Ice or other shows, where she can just skate for pleasure and creativity, and for fans who enjoy the performance side of skating, apart from the competitive side. I for one loved her most recent SOI numbers and would gladly come to a show if I knew that Gracie would be a part of it.

I don’t think anyone is downplaying anything. Depression, anxiety, eating disorder. These things need no embellishment for anyone to know they are serious. These illnessss speak for themselves.

If Gracie loves skating she may want to get back to a place where she can find the joy in it. Only time will tell I guess. Many athletes are able to be healthy in this sport. Look at Ashley. She is physically strong and seemingly mentally strong (even if you don’t appreciate her personality). It is possible but I agree it may not be an environment where she can heal.

The eating disorder, unless genetic abnormality, or a biochemical reaction, is a symptom rather than a cause. Pressure, stress, need for control......................all kinds of stuff can cause it. So while you can manage the disorder it lingers around for a long time, and can be triggered. Her underlying psychology need to get cured.......not just the eating behavior.

Frank spoke openly about her need for perfection. I agree they are symptoms. None of us know the extent of any of this and what kind of mental state she is truly in. Frankly I found her twitter refreshing. It used to feel like she was holding back her real self to fit this perfect mold. I think her candor coild actually be a sign that she is feeling more free to be her true self which in my opinion is a much healthier way to live. I caveat all of this by saying this is just a fans opinion. Not pretending to really know or understand anything about her emotional or physical state.

I was a little awestruck when she commented about Alex, although her comments on Frank were an interesting start.

Gracie is such a wonderful person and an incredibly talented skater, even if her skating style isnt my cup of tea. I hope she is back soon, but most of all that she is happy and at peace with whatever she is doing.

I think last year's SOI tour was hard for her, for obvious reasons. I recall quotes during past tours in which she seems to indicate she enjoys performing for audiences in relaxed show settings.
