CBS' The Amazing Race Season 32

I'm not a fan of proposals on reality shows. It's happened on TAR before, or on morning news shows the morning after, and I've hated it every time. It's an attention-getting move.

That was kind of a meh finale - the alliance and sharing answers irked me and I didn’t really have a favourite team. But having one team so far ahead took the suspense out of the episode. Fun to see New Orleans though, and carefree crowds of people.

im not a fan of public proposals either. Seems like Jones-ing for a wedding reality show.

wonder how long we will have to wait for the next season. Sigh.

When we go to New Orleans our first stop is for beignets and cafe au lait, we get three each. I’ve never had a problem eating three so I was cracking up over James and Wills dramatics over eating them. Our last trip was to NOLA around this time last year so seeing crowds and fun made me nostalgic.

Well, Will appeared to be eating off of his fingers while looking for the baby in the cakes. He may have filled up before even getting to the beignets.

:blah: I hate anti-climatic endings. Once Will & James found that baby it was over. Bros were screwed from the start and although I know luck with taxis is part of the game, I think that on the last leg when they run out the airport (cause they will always be on the same plane), they should take a 'marked car' with a driver who knows exactly where to go. Driver can take any route to get there, but at least they know where they are going for the first clue box. Then after that all the final tasks should have to be on foot to each location. The driver not even being able to find the clue box location screwed them the minute they got in that cab.

Also don't like the 'you have to wait in line' tasks on the last leg either. What if 2 teams arrived at that bridge at the same time, obviously one arriving like just seconds before the other. With that task, now you have to wait in line while 1st team climbs the bridge, gets rigged up, gets safety instructions (hopefully) for at least like 15-20 minutes or maybe longer. Now it takes YOU another 20+ minutes to get all rigged up, etc. Whoever got to that bridge first was going to win just because the other teams would have that delay of getting rigged up in safety gear by just waiting in line. Unless there were 3 stations available to use and we just didn't see that?

So are we ever going to see The Amazing Race again because of the stupid thing? I don't think things will be cleared up enough around the world to even attempt to run the Race in 2021 at all. I hope they don't cancel the show because of it.

Solid leg for Will and James. If Hung and Chee had been at least a third done with the final task while Will and James were still there, the editing team could have worked its magic to make it look like they were closer than they really were. But, since the boys were so far ahead they didn't have that chance.

I agree that the leg was a bit anti-climactic. If you notice, the team placements didn't change at all from the time the teams arrived at the park. Even with a needle in a haystack challenge, there really wasn't a task that could really stall a team like many final legs have had in the past. I wonder if both Hung and Chee and Riley and Maddison actually finished the final task or if they were just told to go to the finish line. I mean, everything is possible.

Thoughts on this season: I'm glad we're back to the regular folks with regular applications. No social media "stars", no reality show winners, and no weird shenanigans like the "meet your partner on leg 1" season. I do miss the old airport shenanigans though. Rest periods used to be exactly 12 hours long, so if you were very far behind the top team, you could potentially end up taking a flight that was 8+ hours behind. At least there was excitement with that, but now everyone is always on the same flight, except for leg 1. I hope it's not too long until we get another season, though with the current situation I'm not too optimistic.

Also, I just realized something. No fast forward this season, right? Whatever happened to those?

I was just saying the same thing last evening.

This too - it is by far my favorite show on TV. At best we'll probably have to wait two years for another season. At worst, it's canceled.

Maybe no reality show "winners” but Will and James have been contestants in the past. Will was the runner-up on America's Next Top Model in 2014 and James was a contestant on the reality show Capture.

And I bet the NFL players were a recruited team.

They still are, aren't they?

I've read that the reason there is no more airport drama is because of airline security. You can't just switch tickets in and out any more without triggering a lot of security alarms. They also had problems with with crews and locals dealing with those huge time lags.

According to Colin and Christie, they're not. They're random. They did an IG live last year after the finale and answered a lot of questions asking them to compare season 5 to season 31. They said season 5 was brutal compared to season 31, and they mentioned that rest periods are now longer and in much nicer conditions. Also, they mentioned (and let's not forget) how bunching used to work. Remember how teams would arrive at a task in the middle of nowhere at 9pm only to see a sign saying "opens at 8am"? Back then, it was up to them to figure out what to do with their time. Apparently, when it happens now (I think it only happened once this season after the hourglass thing), production takes care of them. Of course, it's nice to know that they don't have to choose between paying the little money they're given for a hotel or hostel and spending hours in the middle of nowhere. It's a safety thing and I'm glad they're better taken care of now.
TL;DR, they said the non-racing portion of the race was cake despite being much older than they were in their original season.

For anyone who has Amazon Prime Video, The Pack is like TAR but with people and their dogs. It’s so cute and I’m loving it. I’m getting emotionally attached to the dogs and hate when one gets eliminated each week. ?

There may be one more complete season that hasn't yet aired. I know that there was one season that was underway but had to be aborted due to YKW.
