I loved their RD and I think this can be great maybe even brilliant at the end of the season. The score surprised me though. I don't mind the Canadian judges, but Michela Cisaro, who is an ISU judge from Italy, gave them 6.75 for skating skills and only gave them the 5th highest PCS. So, definitely something their team needs to look into, which I'm sure they will :)
I absolutely love the confidence Christina is now able to show since their coaching change. I love watching Junior Ice Dance, so I of course remember Cpom from the JGP. It's amazing to see her development from that little girl she was on the JGP to the confident dancing queen she is slowly becoming.

Just had a chance to watch. I love their presence, confidence, and maturity in these programs. When I look just at their feet though, I see there’s a LOT of work that still needs to be done. It seems like Anthony’s injury was much more serious than I imagined. Kudos to him for working so hard to come back, and to the entire team for working with him to get to this point.

I don't know if I'd say there's a lot? I thought their fw looked cleaner and faster in the rd though (where oddly they got lower levels idk).

What a boring free dance seriously if people are fighting insomnia this is the perfect antitode , LALA and davis and smolkin can sleep very well they have nothing to worry about.
Today's fun fact is about insomnia and a condition I'm sure you're suffering from based on your oh-so-predictable attacks on CarPon...

"Sleep experts at Harvard reveal many links between chronic insomnia and general well-being. One of particular to note is that people who suffer from chronic insomnia are at an increased risk for developing mood disorders like anxiety and depression."

The level of anxiety you've got about CarPon displacing your faves is off-the-charts.

Carreira and Ponomarenko are not displacing anyone probably won`t even go to worlds with Hawayek and Baker back and if Zingas and Kolesnik continue in there progression.

Sure, okay. You do realize they're in Montreal pretty frequently, right?

I'd say I'm looking forward to you finding more creative ways to slam them once Christina gets her US passport and they move to Montreal full-time, but it's all so tiresome the way you attack any team that you perceive as a threat to any of your precious Canadian faves.

Can you explain why there's a lot of work to be done? All their turns were clean and it's only August so that was quite impressive for me.

Maybe I was being too harsh. For some reason I expected Anthony's skills to be back to the level they were before, but I don't know why I expected that. Upon reflection, its better to focus on rebuilding Anthony and Christina's skating skills together so they progress at the same rates, have matching technique and approach, etc, so that they can be equally strong skaters. That looks like what is happening here, and that takes time. Besides, they obviously worked on their artistic side this off-season, and are looking like they have more of an identity, which is equally important. I can't have everything all at once. :)

LOVE the FD. Wow. And thank you to @Rukia for the closer picture of Christina's dress. I thought it was just meant to look like a blood splatter and thought, "Hm, pretty direct, non?" But the flower detail makes it more interesting.

Good to see they're doing so well, that they've spooked L&L's resident uber-troll.

If you look up the Perfume poster the red petal pattern on her dress has come directly from that

Christina just posted that they are on their way to champs camp - it'll be interesting to see what the programmes look like after this. The picture she used is from Danielle Earl - and the event photos are here if anyone is interested. I wanted to see the costumes in more detail and now that I have I can kind of understand them a bit better. Although I don't always love a black costume you can see that they are clearly going for a literal interpretation Leather and Lace which I actually quite enjoy.

I also think these costumes- especially the rd ones- won't stick around.
The RD one is fine, provided she fully embraces the "leather and lace" aesthetic of the 70s & 80s and adds the requisite feather hair clip - red with gold tips would be my suggestion.

🚨🚨 New podcast alert 🚨🚨
I haven't listened to it yet but if anyone does, feel free to chime in.

As always I'm willing to subject myself to a long podcast for these two. First of all, their trainer isn't a great interviewer in my opinion haha. But a few things stuck out to me:

1. They talk about how hard they work and how difficult their workouts are. Says they are always fun and have good attitudes and never seem to run out of energy. One cute story I thought was the trainer was talking about how Anthony is always there to help Christina out and even joined her in a wall sit just to keep her company. We love a good partnership.

2. They talked a bit about nutrition. Anthony sticks to the diet plan m-f then allows himself a day to eat what he wants. Christina is less strict and allows herself to eat something if she really wants it because she can get a little obsessive and over-strict with her food (or so she's been told). Which I'm so glad they seem to be keeping a healthy perspective. They also talked a lot about what you can and can't take supplement/medicine wise, and both were like "yeah we really will not take anything unless it is cleared by someone first." Anthony doesn't like to take even basic pain killers because he wants to be able to listen to his body.

3. The trainer said Christina has "the most clothes" to which Anthony agreed and Christina did not. And then Anthony turned it around by assuring them that it was all beautiful and very carefully organized (but Christina still seemed a bit embarrassed).

4. Both the trainer and Anthony again complimented Christina on her commitment to the commute between countries. She said her commute had become much longer because they closed down part of the bridge on the border? She also said her border agent had told her they were shutting it down and asked if she had anyone who could boat her across and she was like...no? Why would I?

5. They talk about being partners for so long and how they are happy they are such good friends. Christina says that while she knows of people who don't get along and still skate together, she thinks that would be miserable. She also says it's very hard to describe their friendship because they have relied on each other so much since they both moved away from home as young teens. The trainer then asks if you're allowed to date your partner and they were both like, "Ummm, you can do whatever you want." The trainer talks about how well they get along and says, "Yeah, Christina just has this face she makes when Anthony pisses her off and then they keep going" which honestly is killing me.

6. They said they are making "big" adjustments to their programs based on Champs Camp, so who knows that that means. They did specifically say they are extending one of the songs in their rd by 3 more seconds (it sounded to me like they were talking about Edge of Seventeen because they had just mentioned that song being played in the gym one day and Christina was like "hey could we change it we hear that every day" hahaha). So yeah, I'm interested to see what this means.

There was a lot more but the trainer kind of talked over them a lot. He just had a lot to share with the world I guess. I'm sure someone else will provide more details, but this is what I remember for now.

Oh wait one more thing- the trainer keeps talking about "Scotty" Moir and asked if he can still move, and they were both like "yeah he could still be competitive." But also apparently Christina took him out the other day (although she said that she did not trip him and he tripped himself). Also one time Christina knocked down Anthony and gave him a concussion oops.

Agree with @Rukia - the interviewer wasn't that great, but I did appreciate his enthusiasm and respect for the sport.

I don't think I knew before this interview that Christina's mom had been a figure skater too and that both their mothers followed the results of the other kid before they partnered up - I was left with an impression that their mothers realized they'd make a good team before they tried out.

They also both seem fairly confident that she'll have her US passport in time for 2026.
