Gabby looked fantastic in her opening. Then she lost steam orcwas it focus or confidence? But it was a big improvement from China. On another board I saw she has several health struggles and a few vicious bullies.
I think Gabby is very interesting, powerful, exotic gorgeous and I just don't understand the negativity. Jealousy? Enemies spinelesly hiding behind alias?
She wouldn't be the first in history to be disliked because she's just too special for people to handle.
Some are throwing shade on Ashley, the new American girl Tennel, Satoko, Karen, Medvedeva, Carolina, hmmm, so little hate for lower placed girls, so much hate for the accomplished. Who are you? What are you hoping to achieve?
To all good people out there, support these skaters, speak loudly, and shame the bullies.
Let's also support the lower placed girls, they matter too.

Huh? Or eh?I can't stop laughing at myself. I am so proudly American but wonder if liking a Canadian skater is making me accepting and whole minded like a Canadian!

I am quite confident with Daleman nevertheless. She had a late start to traing because of her abdominal surgery (which takes time to heal because it affects the core, the first and foremost important part of the body in order to generate force through the limbs). she seemes more prepared, more confident. she still has stamina issues, but one could see she was flying over the ice. She could have backed off a little bit, but no, she went full speed ahead because I think she wants to deliever that full program with speed. She will get there by nationals, by the Olympics.

and a quad toe... I can,t wait to see this! I guess nobody doubts she can land one considering her huge triple toes.

where is the quad toe info coming from?

Tara Lipinski said on the broadcast that Gabby told her she’d been training them in a harness (started after China). Gabby says she will unveil it at nationals. I don’t doubt she could do one based on her triple, but I don’t think Tara said anything about Gabby landing them without a harness yet.

@Habs that's how I understood it too. :)

I also wondered if she would then plan on changing her combination? If she pops the 4T to a triple, then she'll have lost the chance to do 3T-3T as her combo...

She was sick leading into Skate America, I heard. So she must be pooped. Maybe she's replacing the LP...

Of course it is all "theoretical", but if i got my hands on Daleman to fix easy things, i would:
- change some of her moves to more dramatic, more relevant to "gladiator fight" and make her watch "Spartacus".

Make the design either modern and interesting:

Or, do something interesting with a "chainmail look"...

... because gladiators wore chainmail covers.... https://www.yourprops.com/movieprop...le-of-Carthage-chainmail-belt-and-tunic-1.jpg ... and not the "Praetorian guard" bodices, which she is unsuccessfully trying to imitate in the current dress, which makes her look bigger than she is.

..... and it would help if she did something with her hair to make it "warrior princess".

ITA with all of the above. I've wanted a woman to skate to music like Gladiator, MITIM, or 1492 for a very long time.

Daleman's Gladiator has, however, been a disappointment. Really a lost opportunity in terms of choice of music cuts, costuming and interpretation.

Maybe the Gladiator music version was selected to convey a "female gladiator?" Not saying I agree, just surmising

There were some female gladiators. I googled it, and found they competed topless.

She did. IIRC, Tara said Gabby started training the 4T in a harness and the next day, came out and landed them cleanly on her own.

Of course Tara also said that Ashley was not landing her jumps and left practice early followed by Ashley was landing her jumps. Just because words come out of her mouth doesn't mean they're accurate. All she knows is what somebody is babbling into her ear and she's repeating.

That was probably Michelle Long's best long program since 2016 Canadians. She will get 4CC if she can duplicate those performances from SC Challenge at Canadians.
