I will leave my speculation about Alaine by saying only it will be interesting to see what she does this year with her new coach.

Indeed. Alaine has many appealing qualities, and it's sad to see a career simply peter out under such a crisis of confidence. Her Sunset Boulevard fp has a lot more depths and avenues to explore. She was just weighed down this past season by technical inconsistencies and whatever off-ice challenges she was facing. So it would be really exciting for Alaine and for Canadian ladies discipline if she could turn things around, especially with that third spot available when historically there's only been one or two spots on tap.

Is it official that Alaine has change coaches? Is she with McLeod? I hope it works out. I think that third berth was hanging over her head. She's the strongest next to Kaetlyn and Gabby and that third spot was hers to lose. Sadly, she didn't earn it. Being left off the Olympic team could be a good motivator for the next four years.
