Budapest Trophy 2024 - Women's SP & FS

Well, the good vibes for those coming back from injury had to end somewhere. Shame for Eva-Lotta. :(

This final group of women has been dire - not one clean program yet with 2 unlikely candidates to go.

I think I enjoyed both Lindsay and Alysa the most out of the ladies so far this season. Just lovely skates. Alysa’s jumps still look questionable but I’m glad to have her back.

The protocol isn't opening for me, but Thorngren's combo looked more rotated than Liu's to me. Alyssa just has more speed and attack.

The TES is close with all of the top six, so could be quite a bit of movement in the free.

They both got a q on the end of the combo. The real difference was Lindsay getting a ! on her flip.

How did Alysa's speed look? That was a big weakness especially in her Junior years.

Alysa's program is really beautiful, and I like the dress. The only problem is that the skirt gets right in her face while spinning, so some adjustments may have to be made so she can see!

I have NEVER seen Maddie smile like that. Hope she can keep up the good skating and the good spirits tomorrow!

Does anyone else have sound for this first woman of the penultimate group?

Here's their IG story where I sent the DM -

This is so annoying. They have someone on their IG - they just posted an IG story 16 minutes ago. People are, rightfully, upset in the livestream chat.

ETA - sound just came on!!!! Thank goodness because I was going to rage if we didn't have sound for the last 7 women.

Well, that wasn't the best from Janna - though she's probably the best Finnish woman they have right now, especially with Nella being injured.

Sauter - couple of popped/doubled triples and a stumble out of one of her combos, but not terrible. She also ends behind the music. If she cleans all the minor issues up, she'll be in the mix for top 5 at Euros, I think.

Couple of messy jump landings from Lorine. She still has so much work to do on the PCS side. I was more interested in my morning snack than her program.

ETA - she's still the best French senior woman by a long shot.

I love that Schizas is embracing the cast-a-spell-on-you choreography of this witches are so in right now

Jumps are as weird as ever

Maddie - steps out on her first jump, and on her second jump, clean on the next two passes. And then a fast 3-turn out on the next, really rough landings on all 3 jumps in that combo she gutted out because she needed the points - was it worth it??? She's a better skater than Schild but I wouldn't have her ahead of Lorine, and she's still looking vulnerable for Can Nats.
