Oh another dick pigs thread. Well, here's my contribution: Peter O'Toole and Laurence Olivier. EDIT: and James Dean

BIB - I could never see it. To me, he was a poor imitation of Marlon Brando (Brando even said so in his book).

I am surprised no-one has mentioned Ryan Gosling, Chris Hemsworth or Tom Hiddleston.

I'm thinking of actors who I don't see as beautiful in film after film. But sometimes their portrayal of a certain character is incredibly arresting. My niece is studying "Zero Dark Thirty" in some film studies class and so I've been watching it "through her eyes" so to speak. Two actors took my breath away in that film:
Edgar Ramirez as a CIA operative and Joel Edgerton as a navy seal named Patrick. HOT!

Sorry I'm late to the game with this thread but noteworthy ones (in my eyes) were:

Montgomery Clift - A Place in the Sun
Marlon Brando - A Streetcar Named Desire
Alain Delon - Purple Noon or Plein Soleil
Helmut Berger - Dorian Gray (as well as The Garden of the Finzi-Continis)
Viggo Mortensen - American Yakuza (not a very good movie though)
Tony Leung - In the Mood For Love
Bin Won - The Man From Nowhere
Kip Pardue - Loggerheads (as well as Remember the Titans)
Denzel Washington - Mississippi Masala

And in terms of ladies, I'd mention:

Nastassja Kinski - Tess
Elizabeth Taylor - A Place in the Sun
Marilyn Monroe - Gentlemen Prefers Blondes
Dominique Sanda - The Garden of the Finzi-Continis
Liv Ullmann - Persona
Maggie Cheung - In the Mood For Love
Catherine Deneuve - Belle de Jour

I don't care if it was 1948...there will never...ever...ever...be another Samson (with or without Delilah) as stunningly handsome as...
VICTOR MATURE! :swoon:
Even back then I'm told that he was described as a "gorgeous hunk of man"
...an understatement. ;)

Do people know about James Franco  I have literally only noticed a few days ago how beautiful that man is. I'm totally shocked because he has that old-school brooding, detached, cool, "this world is beneath me"-Marlon Brando/James Dean-vibe and with his hair long he reminds me so much of Jim Morrison (who was of course pure sex!). Three things James Franco does that detract from his incredible sex appeal: (1) terrible short hair cuts; (2) he insists on wearing moustaches and beards that hide his beautiful features; (3) he opens his mouth to speak (without a script) :p

But otherwise... OMG!...

The pictures don't even do him justice. It's that whole cold way he looks, moves and speaks - like he knows you want him badly and he doesn't give a shit - just my type :smokin:

I saw Ewen McGregor on "Graham Norton" recently. The man does not age and is adorable. Great smile, warm demeanor and he's handsome---what's not to like?

I don't know if anyone remembers him but there was a British actor whose career was starting to take off when he died in a motorcycle crash: I thought he was lovely and his name was Mark Frankel.

I remember him - a really handsome and talented man.

Tom Hiddleston is best known for the superhero movies (not my thing) but he is right now in a John Le Carre spy series called THE NIGHT MANAGER.

I first saw him in a sexy and tragic love story called THE DEEP BLUE SEA, co-starring with Gillian Anderson.

He's also very good in HIGH-RISE.

what about this great belgian actor, matthias schoenaerts. He 's great looking and a brilliant actor: Rust and Bones, Suite française, the danish girl .... He's gonna play in a mini-serie about Lewis and Clark.

HBO is popular here and if they ever finish their series on Lewis and Clark then I think Matthias will gain a new audience in the US as he is one of the stars. Fingers crossed on this and for Schoenaerts. I liked him very much in "A Little Chaos."

Are there any French people here who know about Benjamin Garnier? I am intrigued, yes I am.

 I know who Benjamin Garnier is…..for a very strange reason. I love Isabelle Adjani, and watched her latest movie “Sous Les Jupes Des Filles” (stupid movie). Granier plays a part. When I saw him, I thought it was Rodrigo Santoro (who caught my eye in 2003 version of "Roman Spring of Mrs. Stone", where he played “the boy who followed Mrs. Stone”. I had to dig up who it was, and still could not tell these two guys apart…

Benjamin has a short film called "Heartbreaker". I'm willing to break my promise to never watch a movie again, but I can't find it anywhere.

Here it is..... don't look for films in English, they block them. Try other languages
In French

In Russian

This is not it actually. The heartbraker (l'arnacoeur) is not a short film, it's a full length movie and Benjamin doesn't play in it, the lead actor is Romain Duris and the actress Vanessa Paradis (Johnny Deep's ex-partner)
This is actually a pretty funny and well-done romantic comedy. I recommend it . It's not cheesy and Romain is really funny. Plus there are two secondary roles who are hilarious.

Oh, i see.... you want the short film, not the full movie. I had no idea Garnier was in some "short movie" called Heartbraker.

They/film-makers have a Facebook page for that film.
I am not registered on Facebook, can't get in.

Perhaps you guys can, and ask where they store their short film video.

Haha this post made me laugh

And again... James Franco makes himself so ugly with those haircuts and facial hair. It's like he's too good-looking that he tries very hard to ugly-fy himself :hat1: Even when he plays real characters who shaved, he still sneaks in those messy patchy "beards" that look like a balding racoon on his face.

I actually have seen James Franco in person, when he was very young, probably 9 to 11 years old, attending a social event at the local Jewish Community Centre with his mother in Palo Alto, California (a town 30 minutes from San Francisco, where many Russian immigrants live, especially if they study at Stanford).

He was a nerd! could not tell him apart from good little russian-jewish nerd who studies nothing but math.....

I found some fotos, not sure what his age is, but looks close enough.

It was strange to learn that Franco is an actor and a sex-symbol on top of that... but i just can't see him as "sexy" and will always see a "nerd".... :D

Omg you met James Franco!!! *insanely jealous*

He has that unconventional "something" in his eyes and his brooding arrogant manner that makes him sexy (unlike his very conventionally pretty younger brother who does nothing for me at all).

Franco has very intelligent eyes and he appears to do lots of different things besides acting (including lecturing at Columbia right?). The one thing I always find surprising is how stupid he comes across un interviews. I don't really get it
