While I understand Kulik's shift to coaching, his presence will be missed. His Paris was absolutely magnificent and neither Artur, nor Morris could come close matching the sheer energy or charisma that Kulik so effortlessly brings to the ice. Ah... we had a great run last summer.

Yes I miss Ilja Kulik in this beautiful Romeo&Juliet shows very much. He skated his role as Paris brilliantly.
Vakhtang Murvanidze is trying his best but he can never substitute Ilja Kulik.

I finally had the chance to see the Romeo and Juliet show in St. Petersburg and it was great. That is really theatre on ice and everyone did a great job. Since I hadn't seen the show with Ilia Kulik as Paris, I can't compare, but I can say that Vakhtang Murvanidze was very good in that role. My favorite probably was Yana Khokhlova in the role of Julia's nanny.

Are they going to perform in a large tent? They skated in a tent in London, yet it seems to me it was smaller.

"Romeo&Juliet" is a part of the "Russian Seasons" festival in Italy. Here the festival tells about the events to be:

A year ago they were telling, that they even had to compete with Cirque du Soleil which had come to Sochi. This year Cirque du Soleil comes to Sochi again.

Artemiy Marinin skates in the "Nutcracker" in Sochi. Maxim Marinin tells it was his (Maxim's) idea. He says Artemiy has become better as a skater, and now Maxim isn't shy to show him. (Artemiy is 11 y.o.)

Sorry, I was wrong: those videos (from the beginning to the end) are from St.Petersburg, not from Sochi.

Ilya Averbukh thinks, that "The Nutcracker" performances in Sochi are successful, so he adds 2 more performances in September: September 2 and September 16.

It seems Tatiana Volosozhar and Maxim Trankov are not going to Italy with "R&J".

Reputable Russian TV channels (Channel One and NTV) reported the performance in Verona.

By the way, I didn't tell about this boy, but I want to do it. He wanted to go to the ice in his bare feet - like the skaters do in the end of the "Romeo and Juliet" theatrical. The boy wanted to show his respect and gratitude to them. As far as I can see, his name is Lev Lelekov. A year later he came to see the show once again - and managed to thank them - in his bare feet.

I've been in Russia for four days (split between Saint Petersburg and Moscow) and I was SHOCKED at how..... Alexei is everywhere. He has been on TV every day I've been here, he's on posters for shows, etc... I underestimated just how massive he is here.
